Magic missing fill

Recommended Posts

K to vent my frustration:

I was getting worried...believing I was at 8cc(which is what they told me)...I had 3 in at surgery, 2 at the 1st fill, 3 at the 2nd.....Yesterday I went in for my third fill and when he pulled it out he only got 5cc...so somewhere one fill was missing...although it is a relief because I was so worried I was at 8cc and didn't have much restriction! lol

Anyone else have a similar story?

Umm yep I was suppose to be at 10ccs in a 9 cc band and still no restriction, so I asked him to take it all out and measure it and what do you know I only had 7.6ccs in there he added 1.1ccs and I think the 8.7ccs is my sweet spot I didn't even go to my this months appointment because I am content right where I am. Good luck hope your future fills won't go missing again!!!

I had 4cc in during surgery, then 4cc, 1cc, .5cc and .5cc for a total of 10cc in a 10cc band. He did my last fill in November and verified the 9.5 before he added the new fill to make 10. I have, of course, SOME restriction but I can still basically eat anything and everything. I have lost nothing in about 5 weeks but I have another appointment in 10 days and will ask for a small fill. Hopefully, that will jump start things.

the same thing happened to me ...to my counts I had at least 7cc and my band only holds 4cc. I had been keeping track by my dr never brought in my chart. So finally after not losing and no restriction, I called him on it, he always had a hard time finding my port. Well as it turns out , I had a leak in my tubing next to my port. Another surg. and more bills, now filled to 3.75 I do feel some restriction but havent hit the sweet spot yet. I would ask dr if you have a possible leak, or maybe one of your fills missed the port.

I was going to ask this same question. I went for fill #2 today. He put 0.5 in at surgery, and 2.0 at first fill. Shopuld be 2.5 in the band, today there was 1.5 in the band. He told me that sometime when the fill is "tough" some of the fill does not make it into the band. HE said when I go for fill #3 they will double check the volume to make sure I don't have a leak. I really hope not, I don't want to start all over again with the pre and post surgery diets.

It is such a relief to read that this is happening to others! I just switched doctors because I wasn't seeing results...come to find out I had nothing in my band for 4 months....now I am at 5....we shall see...at least I feel some restriction...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
