night time snacking

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for how to control night time snacking. I am able to have great will power all day-but I have the hardest time controlling my eating in the evening. I am not hungry - I know I am not hungry....Oy! I have been at a plateau for 2 months now and am getting frustrated especially since I only have 20 pounds left to get to goal.

Hi. We must be sisters.... or twins maybe. I could have written your post - well - except for the almost to goal part. I too can do great all day, and then blow it at night. It's like I just lose my mind. I'm sure knowing you are not alone is not the help you were looking for, but... thank you for the post, and I will be anxious to read the replies. Maybe we could live together and keep each other out of the kitchen at night  Good luck!!

I'm really struggling right now. I'm in the middle of writing my dissertation and under a tremendous amount of stress at work. I've been snacking like crazy...a cookie here and there and just overall bad choices with Snacks. During the day I'm great...no bad choices at all.

I always struggle with snacking, especially since I'm a night owl. I keep a bag of small apples in the fridge just for that. It satisfies my desire for something sweet, and it lasts a long time because I have to chew, chew, chew. It's low in calories and it helps me get in enough Fiber, something I've struggled with since being banded.

Have you tried having a hot milky drink at nights? for some it fills them up, relaxes them & good for a sleep..or low calorie Soup?

ive put up couple pics of myself one before & one during in the food cupboards..reminds me how well i am doing

I always snack in the evenings. I allot for it though throughout the day. I know that I am gonna want trail mix or something so I just keep the portions smaller in the mornings to make up for it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
