Am I the only one not happy with my surgeon's office

Recommended Posts

When I went to the free weight loss clinic back in November I really liked the people from Dr.Enoch's office. Then when I went for my first visit I felt they only want your money. I went through all of the tests, work ups, so on and when his office filled my insurance in december it was denied. That was ok I was prepared for it. What I was not prepared for was that his office doesn't help much(other than print outs)with the appeal process. It is all on you. Well long story short i won my appeal and I am schedule for surgery next week. I went to their office this week for a pre-op appt and realized that I just do not like the people there. When I arrived I walked to the window she didnt even look at me then she said " I need your copay" I told her i didnt have one she typed on the computer, handed me a paper and then i sat down. Am I going to have to deal with this for every fill...........

Customer service is so important! Be sure to tell the Dr he may not even know that they are treating patients like that.

hmmm....not a good sign.

These WLS docs are REEEAAAL good at putting on the seminars, but then they show their true colors in the day-to-day stuff.

But, as another poster said, the Doc might not be aware that his staff is leaving you feeling a bit cold. Have a talk with the doc.

People really need to understand, though, that even though they may like their Surgeon and have confidence in him/her, the people you will be dealing with the MOST will be the office staff. If you don't like them for whatever reason, well....consider reconsidering. I'm not going to say that you should give up on a Surgeon that you really feel good about because the staff is snotty, but they ARE part of the package. And, I always tell people to really, really research their Doctors well, and that INCLUDES talking to their staff. Some Drs office personnel are downright stupid. They think that they ARE the Doctor. I can tell you form experience that the Staff will sometimes say and do things that the Dr does NOT approve of, and will not know about unless you tell him/her.

Just one more reason why I tell people to take your time in choosing the procedure AND the Doctor.....

HH

So make sure that you include a look at the ENTIRE package before you commit.

Dr. Enochs himself was great along with his FNP Ms. Long.

As for everyone else in that office they do leave something to be desired especially when it comes to calling people back.

I had to call several times a day for 5 days before I could get in touch with the woman that scheduled surgeries.

Now that it is all said and done (banded 10/2/09), I think I will say something to Dr. Enochs next time I am in the office.

:rolleyes2:I would find another doctor. I experienced that once with a ortho doctor and I never went back again, even though the Dr was suppose to be the best. The staff was so rude and didn't give a s#@t. You could say something to the dr?...but then you might cause more problems with the staff. There are other offices and docs that would appreciate your business.:wink2:

I looked at Dr Enoch, but for some reason didn't get a happy feeling, so I went with Dr Moran. So far I feel really good about the people I have dealt with in his office.

My first experience was with Dr Enochs office...I watched the seminar online and submited my information.

I waited and waited.

I called....left a message...and waited.

Finally got a call back and was told it would be 3-4 days to verify my insurance even though I already had the information from them.

I finally got a call 12 days later.

By that time, I had researched other Doctors, gone to a seminar, been verified and had my first appt with Dr. Moran's office.

I am 100% satisfied with the staff at Dr. Moran's office---they return calls within the day ( usually within the hour) I feel educated and relaxed about this process.

I am really glad I switched over....

im so glad i didn't see this post before i went there..i love love love dr enochs and his office.

yes i did have to wait a day or so for a return call but i was informed of every move they were making. i personally feel like they return the most urgent calls first.

i had a problem with my gp giving paper work and angelica helped me to worry them until they gave it up.

after my surgery i had an allergic reaction and left a message for the nurse to call me back. it was late when i called and i received a return call at 6:45 at night to help me.

it took me 3 months to get my paperwork done and of no fault of theirs. they were there with me every step of the way.

i will be going for a checkup in 2 days and i hope nothing changes for me. good luck to you on this journey we have all taken on.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
