Regular water vs. crystal light

Recommended Posts

I don't see why crystal light would be an issue. I find it way to sweet and use part of the packet rather than the whole packet. :-)

I have trouble drinking Water. I really dont like it, so for me Crystal Light is the way to go if I want to get all my water in. I love the fruit punch also.

I love the taste of crystal lite lemonade! However, I've found that it tastes best to me when I use a 32oz water bottle. I throw in some ice and I'm good to go! I have found that the 32 oz plastic bottles with a flip top to be super conveinant.

Artificial sweeteners cause an insulin response in the body, just as if you drank sugar (although not quite as bad). You can't fool mother nature. Your body knows Crystal Light is sweet even if it's artificially sweetened. Use sparingly.

I bought a really cool Water from Kroger (I'm sure it's available at other stores) called Ty Nant--it's Welsh. Good water, but the bottle is very cool looking. I keep refilling it.

Makes me look all cool and rich and what not!

I was't aware of that. I will have to watch sugar and artificial sweeteners then but so far in my 8 years as a type 2 it has not had that effect on me. The liquid diet has had a large effect on lowering my blood sugar levels to the point that I have called my DR to see what drugs he wants stopped when I get the band installed tomorrow that is if my regular DR gets my lab work to the hospital in time.... All the blood was drawn last Thursday but no results yet. Hospital required blood test be with in 7 days of surgery.

I really like propel flavored waters. They do have calories in them, but it's only like 25 for the entire bottle. There is no aspertame in it. That stuff is evil. People should do a google search on it and read about how horrible it is for the body.

I will drink propel when I want some flavor in my Water.

I'm hooked on Crystal light peach tea. I wish I could find one with splenda because it is my sweetner of choice. A little Aspertame doesn't seem to negatively effect me but if I get too much it depresses me. (I have lots of weird side effects to things)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
