2 weeks post op and nausea

Recommended Posts

While I am raving I have no appetite, these last few days I have been dealing with nausea on and off. I don't think I am getting enough Water and Protein in, am on mushy stage and still sticking with Soups and yogurt (although I did try a bit of a potato last night). Last night in particular, I had the shakes and shivers like I had the flu or something. Am noticing too a little discomfort in my lower stomach....my doc won't be in until tomorrow but wondering if anyone has had similar experiences at this stage post op? My DH thinks the nausea is because I am not getting enough nutrition. Honestly, I felt better last week than I do this week.

abby, how much Protein and liquids are you taking in? i am also two weeks out, i have been eating well over 60-80 gm of protein and over 70cc liquids. i advanced to ground meat, fish etc already and am doing fine. i do write everything in a daily notebook to keep track, including calories. try that to see how much you are actually taking. that way you can show your dietician. i had no nausea whatsoever, so i guess i am lucky.good luck, peggy

Hi the Papaya enzymes you can get at GNC or Trader Joes are chewable & tasty & they really help with digestion. I had a stuck feeling the other day so I got some & they really help.

Peggy how are you getting in all that Protein if I may ask? Today so far I had 34g in a Protein Shake, 5 from my yogurt and 8 from my cottage cheese. I have no appetite and although am on mushy stage I am still eating 'pureed' foods. Did your stomach have to adjust as you introduced new foods after so many weeks on clear/liquid,etc? I am trying hard today to get all my Water in as well. Just cant understand while I feel so lousy.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
