Greetings Lap Banders. I'm Nora and I'm trying to work my way "back to the future", specifically, back to a place where I was thinner, healthier and felt better about myself. I was banded on Nov 1 by Dr. Mun at the Faulkner Hospital. At my first consultation, I weighed 269 lbs. After 2 fills, I'm now at 225 lbs. .
I went to my first support group last night at Brigham & Women's and was very happy to meet others on this path. It's good to hear others speak of their challenges and successes.
It hasn't been easy. And while the band helps enormously w/ portion control, I'm now confronting my emotional eating habits. I don't know why I was surprised to learn my weight issue wasn't just about eating big meals -- but eating when I was lonely, bored, anxious. What a surprise: DUH.
So I know this will be a challenge to continue for the long haul.
