smoking and banding

smoking and banding.

I will be banded soon, the nurse has told me to quit smoking which i have for 2 weeks till the procedure is done.

2 questions i had were.

1. it is super difficult to quit, what do i do?, i am taking medication for smoking and smoking 3-4 a day from 20, and those 3-4 are just 3-4 puffs per ciggerate, so basically if you combine 1 cig a day. is that ok?

2. After the surgery, for the post op, i require 3 weeks of liquid diet, how does this work?

i can have any low calory liquid or just specifics like 1st week Soups, 2nd week juice etc?

Thanks

ok to begin with you need to stop smoking. that means no more smoking at all.

and on the liguids i will tell you what i was told by my dr.

1-3 days Clear liquids,4-14 days full liquids, 15-to28 days soft food mushies.

clear liquids= any thing you can see threw at room temp. full liquids = and thing that has nothing solid in it.

i hope this helps. and please stop the smoking. you can do it.

hey, well I still smoke, even after surgery. Im on like year 2 now and no problems at all. I don't smoke cigaretts though, but smoke is smoke I guess. No problems at all. Lap Band is to loose weight, not smoke. But that's just me. I have had no problems at all. Shit I smoked the same afternoon after my surgery. Just try not to cough, that could hurt a bit for a little while after surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
