Fills after 3 weeks

Recommended Posts

I had my lapband surgery on January 30, 2009. Did anyone get their fills before the 6 week recommended time? I have no restriction and am feeling a bit down.

You should wait... stop worrying about losing weight - it's only another 3 weeks... just relax and trust that it will start to happen once your fills come. It did for me... s

Hi New Girl. That is a hard time. You've been on the pre-op diet and the post-op diet and you are ready for this thing to start working. I know. I had no restriction after my surgery... none after the first fill (it was about 5 weeks after my surgery), none after the second fill, but after the third fill - things really turned around. I have plenty of restriction now. Hang in there. Keep busy and keep focused on why you got the band in the first place. Try to just eat what you are supposed to. I was on here a lot, did a lot of walking, and went for many rides - just to keep my mind off of food. Good luck to you!!!! It does get better. Becky

Hi there... I had my surgery on January 21st and will have my first fill this Thursday. Can't tell you how excited I am. From everything I have read... some people don't lose anything on during this time frame. They don't start losing until they start getting fills. My doctor does fill at 4 weeks after surgery. I also was getting a little bit down as I've only lost 10 pounds all together since starting the whole process.

hi, I had my first fill only like 2 1/2 weeks after surgery. But now that I have like 2 weeks with my fill I am always hungry.. I don't know if it is because I rushed on my fill, or if I just don't have enough restriction. I would wait if I were you

I am so amazed on how much you have lost since your surgery. :tongue2: I had my surgery on Sept. 18th and I am having trouble losing, 19 to date. Gained back 3 in between fill 2 and fill 3. I was losing inches so I did not worry to much but now I am not even losing the inches. This is way harder than I thought it would be. I am trying to stay positive but it is becoming harder & harder. :rose:

i think that I am losing inches right now.. my weight has been a stand still for about the last week and 1/2.. actually i've only lost 5lbs in the last 2 1/2 weeks.. but my pants are still getting looser... I thought that it was going to be a lot easier too.. plus since my first fill I am always hungry now.. and it seems like everything goes down to easy...I am with you though on tryin to stay positive... It is takin me a lot right now, not to give up.

My first fill was 3cc on the day of surgery. And another 1 cc four weeks later.

My doctor would never approve and early fill before 6 weeks at the absolute earliest, but 8 weeks was recommended. This time frame has nothing to do with restriction, it is all about healing.

You will also find that waiting 3 weeks is not so bad, the time does pass, albeit a tad unpleasantly :0)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
