Band Is Just 2 Days Away

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm Randy, new to this forum. I will be having my band put in this Thursday, Feb. 12. I'm looking forward to it, but also I'm a little scared. I'm sure all will go well, just wanting to get it in and start getting healthier. Hope to chat with some of you soon.

Take care

Randy

Hi Randy,

I was born in 1969 (too?) and was recently banded on Jan19th and LOVE my BAND!! The pre-op and 2 days after surgery were the hardest, but has been going GREAT ever since. Keep a positive attitude and congratulations on taking this big step to improve your life in nearly every way!

Hi Randy!

Best of luck to you!!!

I was banded 12/29/08. I AM LOVING my band so far. Had my first fill yesterday, and it was a breeze compared to what I thought it was gonna be. (Our minds are great at making a mountian out of a mole hill, aren't they)?

Maria, the liquid diet was difficult, especially the last two days...I wanted meat in a bad way. But I struggled through, and you know what it was worth it. My surgery took place yesterday morning at 7:30 am and went off without a hitch.

Princess,

Thank you. Band was placed yesterday morning at 7:30. Went like clockwork. Worried for no reason at all. Now I can't wait for the discomfort to go away.

Hey guys, 4 days post banding and all is going well. Still have some discomfort but no major pains. Cravings for food are actually gone. I can now have cream Soups in addition to liquids. I start blended foods this Friday. So far down 18 lbs, 6 since surgery last Thursday.

luchay,

I did an 8 day liver reducing diet before surgery, and it went ok. Struggled the last two days but other than that, it's manageable. Good luck and keep going.

Randy thats awesome~!

7 days and counting. today is the first day of pre-op liquids. I'm trying to get a feel for how long I will be out of work. I know everyone is different.

If I could get some feedback on how long before you are feeling good enough to be out of the house all day. I sit all day so there is no physical stuff.

thanks and congrats again:thumbup:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
