Okay, now I'm, crying!

I wasn't going to open the thread because of where it's located but then I saw RSG was the original poster. I have missed you RSG, and I feel you 100%!!!

I have stalled for over 6 months and I don't know what to do. I do tend to drink with food, and I'm sure I could make better choices.

I am glad to see you're back, though, and that you're getting a fill. You've encouraged me, and I think I'll call the doctor, too. I have been embarrassed, but I think I really need to get past that and just go in and talk to him.

You are beautiful! And you have lost weight - pounds that WON'T come back!

Keep in touch, please - we'll get through this slump together.

I have not posted in a while, nor have I updated my ticker. I have now lost 39 pounds since my surgery Oct. 14, 2008. I just wanted to encourage you. You have to get those fills for this to work. I had my fourth fill last week and I finally know what they mean by restriction. I had been able to eat any and everything up until this point. Since the fill I have found that I cannot tolerate many foods that I was eating. I am one of those who still eats what I can, just less of it. First example, I ate fajita nachos this weekend and I could only get two of them down. That is it. Just hang in there. The band is a tool and it has to adjusted properly, so that it will work for you. Good luck. Hang in there!

I had just been so depressed with it, but I am so glad you replied, thank you. Let me know when your fill is.

I heart you lady.

Not drinking while eating continues to be such a struggle for me. I guess all I can do is keep trying.

I called today...he's out of town this week and I'll be in required meetings the next two weeks after that.

I did talk to the nurse, whom I adore, and she was very encouraging. I stressed that I wanted a flouro fill and she'll arrange that. I just need to make sure everything is still okay.

Please don't be depressed RSG - just keep trucking through.

On a funny note, DH tried to help by telling me I have a lot of extra skin. My bf and I started laughing, and he looked sincerely confused, as if what he said really was HELPING me feel better. Sarcastically, I said, "Oh...really? A lot?" and he said, "OH YEAH! A LOT."

Gee, thanks hon.

Now I feel 100% better. I'm not fat, just saggy and loose.

RSG,

I know exactly how you feel. I was depressed adn not had a fill since August, then I got in December 23rd and had one. My Doctor explained how important it was to get fills, especially when stressed. I had one and lost 12 pounds the next 5 weeks...

I've been a slow loser but have been doing much better..he would not give me a fill last month but he now has me on 4 week fill appointments.

I hope you are feeling better soon. Don't get discouraged...you are going to have a big Loss and be on the losing side again.

ooooooooKay! I got my fill. I did, finally. Yep. Yesterday. I stayed on liquids for the rest of the day and had some oatmeal for Breakfast and I'm full.

I will not drink while I eat, I will not drink while I eat, I will not drink while I eat.

And today starts my dedication today to my wii fit. No more "I don't feel like it today" and no more "I'll do it tomorrow" Nope, I will get off my butt and do it today!

I'm going throught the exact same thing, I'm 3 months in and have only lost 38 lbs and nothing in the last month. But I HAVE LOST 38lbs I know what your feeling, but we did not put the weight on over night and it will not come off over night. My hardest part is being patient, just try to get into a regular excerise pattern and try to stick to it, use it as a YOU TIME. Dont be up set if it doesnt come off right away, muscle weights more that fat. Hang in there, and remember you have many friends out here who are going through the same things, and we all can do it.

RSG,

Yay for the fill! I hope it works wonders for you. After several months of very small losses, 1-3 pounds, I am at 7 for this month so far and it's because I got a fill finally. It's just part of the game of having the band.

Sometimes I almost don't want to have restriction because I want to do it like so many others in my life have to who aren't banded. But that's silly, why not use this tool I have had surgically implanted in me? That's what I'm doing and I'm glad to say it's working.

As far as eating and drinking, just don't have any drink available while eating. I know it sounds simple, but if I sit down to eat and don't have a beverage, I'm not going to drink. I actually usually drink right before I eat so I'm not thirsty during the meal or directly thereafter. You will feel full much faster without the drinking, I'm sure of it. Good luck, you can do it!

Hey Melissa and Glou-

Yeah I'm doing good. I'm gonna mow the yard today for some exercise when I get off work.

I am feeling motivated. I am glad I came back here. I feel like a new bandster.

I have not had a drink while I have eaten yet. Now I just have to work on not drinking after I eat. I can make it thirty minutes, but I haven't made it an hour. Step by step.

Yesterday I grilled some chicken breast on the grill with directions from the internet and without drinking I could barely eat 1/2 of it. So I was like...oh...I DO have a band in there.

By the by it was the best chicken EVER. I brined it then put it straight on the grill and put a little raspberry chipotle sauce on it. The trick with boneless skinless chicken breast on the grill is brining, then cooking it over high heat with the lid open for about 5 minutes and flipping it once. It leaves pretty grill marks, and nice carmalized crust and juicy tender chicken inside.

I also bought these bags that you can just toss frozen veggies in and steam in the microwave so I had some of those too.

Yeah RSG! I was worried, and honestly was concerned that when I got back you would be 'gone' from LBT. I am relieved, pleased, and just so proud of you. Back to the basics is difficult; living with the band rules can be challenging (downright frustrating/annoying/irritating sometimes), but you CAN do it.

Keep it up, and keep posting!

It is really, REALLY difficult... I know I joke alot but the truth is all the factors have to be right within yourself to keep the weight loss mindset.

The band won't do all the work for you! I know this has been repeated a million times on here, but I really wish I could reach accross to all new bandsters to let them know this. Not in a negative way, but a positive one.

Never lose that focus, and try as much as possible to continue that weight loss until you reach goal. Do not stray and DO NOT find ways to cheat the band. Once you learn how to do this, it's really really hard to overcome it.

I find it much like driving. You have a destination, but to get there you have to keep your eyes on the road and follow the rules. Once you take your focus off, or make a serious mistake - you can end up in a bad way. Sometimes you recover, sometimes you do not.

I'm trying very hard to recover. That is why I like to read about these kinds of stories. I really want to see if they are able to climb out of the hole... if they can get back to where they started. That way, I can be hopeful that I can too.

Tapshoes,

I was pretty much gone. I had decided that this just didn't work me for. That I couldn't do it and I was done.

But then I kept getting your private messages.

LilMiss- I have my eyes on the road and I am staring at my destination and I want to get there so bad I can taste it. I know that you will get out that hole.

I did join weight watchers. I think I need a little structure to get me back on track. I will let you guys know how that goes. I'm pretty excited about. I'm a bandster that needs a little help right now.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
