Just banded / just joining

Greetings all,

I was just banded on Jan. 30, 2009 in TJ, Mexico. I was 232 lbs when I started and have not weighed in again.

This has been a long process as I started about five years ago and then decided not to do it but spend the time in therapy. After about five years in therapy I finally decided I could use the help but fill as if I am in a much better place for it.

For anyone with hesitations about Mexico my experience was top notch. Dr. Corvala and his team was great and the hospital was really nice.

Now I am taking it day by day, and thought I would join some type of support group of people who understand what I am going through.

Hello and Welcome!!!

I was banded in the same hospital/doctor a year prior. It was a great experience . . . and banding has been an interesting journey. It was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I wish you the best of luck and hope to hear more from you on the forum. :0)

Congratulations,

I was banded on march 24 2008. Same doctor and same hospital. It was all a great experience. I have lost 55 pounds so far with about 20 to go. It gets a little harder the less you have to lose. But it was so worth it. I haven't been this size since my early 20s. I am now considering some plastic surgery due to sagging skin and I have a dr. in tj that is great. I still go to tj for my fills and they due fluro everytime there. I have NEVER had any pain at all and dr. Carmen is wonderful and it only cost 100.00. I read about some of the problems people are having with their fills and these American Doctors can learn a few thing from south of the border. I live in the L.A. area so it is easy for me to go down there. I know not everyone has that option but if you do it is worth it. Good luck and don't get discouraged when the times get a little tougher.
