8 Weeks/2 Months Post Op

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys,

You all look great. I was banded on 12-4-08 and have lost 30 pounds so far. I have had two fills so far and have not lost a single pound in a whole month. This is very frustrating and i really need advice and help.

I was hoping to loose 10lbs in february and unfortunately it's not working.

Hey Shahira,

I too went through a time of not losing. I didnt do anything different and yet I still stopped losing. I was frustrated too but I am sticking with it. Although I am not getting the weekly numbers I was getting in the beginning I have started to lose again. Dont worry you will too!

30 lbs is awesome! You're doing wonderful! Give your body some time to catch up. You'll start losing again when your body is ready. I know its frustrating but hang in there with healthy eating and getting some exercise (even a 10minute walk). I promise it will pay off!

Keep your head up! You're doing amazing!

Blessings,

Cali

Sometimes it's hard to believe how much of a difference this makes. Try not to worry so much on the weight loss but more on the living a healthier life. The weight will come off as you exercise more and eat better. It's still about food choices. It's like I have mentioned before that I often times feel like the band has been more of a moral support to me then an actual physical one even though I know it is helping physical.

Here are a couple of 12 weeks pictures for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
