Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

Recommended Posts

This Clebrity Science article states that it will cost her $135,000. a month??!! just to have care for the 8 babies. NOT. If I hired 4 CNA's (2 babies each) at $10./hr. for 24 hours a day it would cost $29,760. per month. She doesn't need anyone to care for her first 6. She could continue to do that. How everyone OVER exagerates the expense of it is beyond me.

It may as well be a million a month. She doesn't make $29,760 a YEAR, much less a month.

I watched the Dr. Phil special last night on octo-mom. Octo-mom, Gloria, Dr. Phil, and the Angel nurses all met at Dr. Phil's house to have a big Pow WoW!

Based on that meeting octo-mom agreed to accept the generous offer to have nursing care for all 14 of octo-mom's children. And Octo-mom was able to purchase a home, which appears is being funded from donations. No mention of octo-mom's dad being the person who bought the house. Perhaps that was a rumor.

Trust accounts are available at Dr. Phil's web site and the Angel nurses' web site. Dr. Phil has a follow up special today, in which he states he has a big surprise for octo-mom, which no doubt is some type of personal financial contribution or some type of foundation contribution.

The Angel nurses stated that 3 of the 8 children appear to be autistic. And one of the new-borns appears to have downs syndrome.

All I can say at this point, is thank goodness the Angel Nurses are able to donate these wonderful services to the babies. Four of the babies are ready to go home today, but the hospital will only release them two at a time. It looks as though two babies will come home in two days. They are just waiting for the cribs and escrow on the house to close.

The escrow on the house was suppose to close yesterday.

LOS ANGELES — The Southern California mother of octuplets said in a video posted online Wednesday that she — not her parents — is paying for the four-bedroom, three-bath home where she plans to raise her brood.

In the video posted on RadarOnline.com, Nadya Suleman disputed earlier remarks by the house's listing agent, who said her father was buying the home.

Suleman said she made the initial payment on the house, which she was leasing with an option to buy. Her parents, she said, "had nothing to do with it."

Prudential Realty agent Mike Patel did not immediately return a phone message early Wednesday seeking comment.

Suleman made her remarks during a recorded walkthrough of the 2,583-square-foot house in La Habra, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, where she intends live with the octuplets and her six other children.

She said the money for the home was coming from "opportunities" she has been offered, but did not elaborate on what they were. She also said she had been hoping to receive some donations to support the children's care, but had not gotten any.

Suleman gave birth to the octuplets on Jan. 26. They were born nine weeks premature but are the world's longest-surviving set of octuplets.

Suleman said in the video that all but two were healthy enough to leave the hospital and that they would be released two at a time after hospital officials inspected the new home.

So I still wonder if she will help keep her mother from losing her house after she drove the poor woman into the ground. :mad2:

You're supposed to start paying back student loans 6 months after you graduate or 6 months after you stop going to school. But you can get deferments if you are having a hard time paying them. I would guess that is what she is getting.

But if one never was going to school when they secured the loans, that's FRAUD. I got student loans years ago and had to have my school submit them, along with info ON the school! So what the hell did she put down if she's not going to school and getting this money??

I agree that she says she "doesn't know" a lot, but she sure knows how to defraud the system. :mad2:

I don't know how student loans work in her state, but here you have to be in school. My loans actually go directly to the school, not to me. The school takes out their part and then gives me a refund check for the difference. If you drop out half way through the semester, you have to pay some of the money back to the school and you can't get any more loans unless you had a really good reason for dropping out. But that is for government loans, I'm not sure what type she has. But from what I hear she hasn't been in school for a while, so I agree that they need to investigate.

Based on that meeting octo-mom agreed to accept the generous offer to have nursing care for all 14 of octo-mom's children.

I applaud that decision - thinking of the kids first. That needs to happen more often.

Trust accounts are available at Dr. Phil's web site and the Angel nurses' web site.

I hope someone is going to follow up on the trust accounts and make sure that the money is actually going to the children and not into Octomom's pocket or into an administrator's pocket.

The Angel nurses stated that 3 of the 8 children appear to be autistic. And one of the new-borns appears to have downs syndrome.

Oh dear - this just keeps getting better. Those poor babies are going to need special care for quite a while. I wonder if Nadya is TRULY prepared for this? From what I've seen, she isn't ready to deal with her first set of children and their issues, let alone potential issues with the new babies.

I imagine Nadya will be under serious scrutiny for quite a while. I just hope that now that the Angel network has given the possibility of the babies getting the care they need that Nadya is not out on the town partying or anything else. Yes, she will need a break periodically, but she should be devoting her strength to getting well, taking care of the babies (as much as she can) and getting out of school and getting a job so she can get OFF THE PUBLIC DOLE!

If she's doing all that well with donations, how about paying BACK some of the assistance she's been given? How about PAYING for some of the Angel nurses' care? How about getting herself ready for the JOB MARKET so she can stop getting handouts?

Lulu, She was non-reactionary in my opinion. Lights on but no one home. It was just odd!

I would imagine the care the children will be getting will be from no less than LPN's not CNA's. More like specialized RN's. And even here in Podunk where I live, a CNA makes more than $10 an hour. These are special needs children for the most part, including the previous 6-------whether those needs means physical or emotional. They will need special care, in order for those providing her with the help to cover themselves legally in helping to care for these children.

IF she had properly cared for the first 6, then she might be able to handle them, but I seriously doubt that. What is it you are proposing Patty, that the nurses and the infants exist in another area, and she only care for the older kids? What about her schooling? Why should the older 6 get the shaft? Haven't they already?

She has shown that she could not combine caring for the children and going to school, and raising them ON HER OWN. The kids behaviour suffered, and her parents were burdened. Financially as well as physically tiring them.

So if you basically double the figure you come up with for additional care for the older kids too---it is pushing $60K. I imagine there is additional help for the household, and that would include the other things the Angels are providing.

But I would be seriously careful about the gloating, more often than not, those things jump up and bite ya in the ass in the end. This story is far from over----and a leopard does not just up and change it's spots....she was selfish when this started, and she has not changed yet.

I have said all along, that selling out was the only thing that was gonna keep her off the welfare rolls--and I am fully believing she is still on them. Is she paying for her babies hospital bill? If not, then she is still a burden on society. While she gets her nails done up all purdy!!! Puhleeze, she is as much a leech as she ever was. Of course, as usual, this is simply my opinion....and we know we do not agree on the subject.

If Dr. Phil -- or someone equally in the light, and capable, and trustworthy, would make sure those kids were well cared for, and safe--I could go the rest of my life without seeing or hearing about her and not feel as tho anything had been lost.

Alright, part 2 of Dr. Phil and the octo-mom story aired today.

The good news is that all 8-babies had chromosome (sp)tests conducted and all are healthy. One baby has a cleft lip. Not sure why the Angel Nurses mentioned the autistic scale for three of the babies. Does not sound like the one baby has down syndrome, so this GREAT news.

Donations of cribs, bunk beds, dressing tables, rocking chairs, and dressers were announced on the show. A donation of labor and designing was pledged to help put the nursery together, so that it would be a safe environment for the babies.

A general contractor is donating their time to modify the home, so that it will be safe for all the children. Modifications will include getting rid of single pain windows and replace with double pain windows. Reconstruct the stair case and railings, so that they are safe for all the children.

A donation of new flooring was pledged.

There is a weekend donation drive down in Southern Cali to collect diapers formula and other baby items. Dr. Phil did not state what donation he is making if any.

The show really focused on the needs of the babies and the other children. And there was a segment on why Foster Care is not the answer for these babies.

What was very interesting was how the Angel Nurses will mimic octo-mom's nurturing mannerisms. It was just fascinating.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
