I don't think so...

Wow, then why would she put herself out there again?Especially inlight of all the negative feedback she is getting from people.

Cuz she's not all there mentally.

I suspect she's trying to spin herself in a more sympathetic manner. Also, I predict she'll plug her "donations" website.

My heart goes out to all of those children. Her selfish and thoughtless acts have put all of them in a horrible spot. No matter what happens with octomom, the kids all lose. When I think of the time I've spent raising my children, and how much of my time it actually takes, I know there's no way those kids will ever get enough parental nurturing. There are times when I feel that I don't give mine enough.

It's a no-win situation for 14 young individuals in this society. It's a shame octomom doesn't see that. Her older children already recognize there won't be enough time. Out of the mouths of babes. :tt2:

You know Octopussy didn't one day just decide to have IVF and woke up one morning surprised that she was carrying lots of babies. This has been a process. She has had 6 other children and not all in one litter. She obviously has a plan. She probably intended to make a career out of this and that's why she got all plasticized so that she can be ready for her close up. She figured out a career path and so far, it's working for her. She's banking on the fact that people are always fascinated with freaks and freak shows. Gloria Allred has capitalized on it for many years.

Unfortunately the babies will turn out to be freaks on her freak show. None of them asked for that... hmmm or did they? Shirley McClain would suggest that the babies chose HER!

This makes NO sense! She can't (or won't) help save her parents' home, but she can buy herself a million-dollar pad?? Omg, if this doesn't just further show her total narcissism and selfishness, I don't know what does!!! :tt2:

Octo-mom's dad will be on Oprah next week. Man he looks so wiped out.

CHICAGO (AP) -- The father of the California woman who gave birth to octuplets tells Oprah Winfrey that the actions of his daughter and her doctor were "absolutely irresponsible."

Ed Doud says in an interview taped Thursday for "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that he questions the "mental situation" of his daughter. Thirty-three-year-old Nadya Sulemanmag-glass_10x10.gif, who already had six children, gave birth to octuplets in late January after undergoing in vitro fertilization.

In excerpts released by Harpo Productions Inc., Doud says Suleman and her children need help, and people shouldn't punish them for what she did by holding back on donations.

Doud says he hopes Suleman will finish her education and start working so she can help support the family.

The show is scheduled to air Tuesday.

She also denied having any plastic surgery. Asked if she'd had her lips done, Suleman replied, "No, no."NadyaChuckie420.jpgsulemanbeforeafter2.jpg

Grandmother gave an interview to a local CBS station and says she hopes her daughter can get her own home so that she (grandmom can have her own life). Grandmom says she hopes to go visit her sister in Europe soon so she can live a litttle. Alledgedly Nadya has now taken out a gag order on her mother.

Octuplet Grandfather to Oprah "I Question Her Mental Situation"

CHICAGO — The father of the California woman who recently gave birth to octuplets told Oprah Winfrey that he hopes people don't punish his grandchildren for his daughter's irresponsible behavior.

Ed Doud said in an interview taped Thursday for "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that the actions of his daughter, Nadya Suleman, and her doctor were "absolutely irresponsible." But he also issued a plea for the public's help, according to excerpts of the interview released by Harpo Productions Inc.

"You know what? She needs help. I say to everybody now _ people _ we do need help," Doud said. "Do not punish my daughter for what she had done and do not punish the babies, because they were given by God."

A California-based nonprofit called Angels in Waiting has offered Suleman round-the-clock care and a place to stay with her 14 children. It would cost about $135,000 a month to provide the 12 caretakers necessary for the children, money that would have to come from public donations, founder Linda West Conforti said in Los Angeles.

The organization has the trained nursing personnel and experience in caring for very sick children, she said. The group, however, could only provide care for a limited time without the donations, she said.

Suleman, a 33-year-old single mother from Whittier, Calif., already had six children when she gave birth to octuplets in late January after undergoing in vitro fertilization. She is unemployed and lives with her mother in a three-bedroom home.

Property records show Suleman's mother, Angela, owns the home and is $23,225 behind in her mortgage payments. The house could be sold at auction beginning May 5.

In response to a question about whether he thinks his daughter is mentally stable, Doud said, "Now I'm no psychiatrist, but I question her mental situation."

Doud said he hopes Suleman will finish her education and start working so she can help support the family.

The show is scheduled to air Tuesday.

Shouldn't PUNISH them? So... instead we are guilted into rewarding yet more bad behavior? Don't we already do enough of that? Who we PUNISH are the innocent taxpayers who had no say in this. :tt2:

Gloria Aldridge is now her lawyer. She has offered Nadia a home and some other stuff. She has I think 24 hrs to make up her mind in. But then she went and looked at the mansion. So the drama continues.....

She also denied having any plastic surgery. Asked if she'd had her lips done, .

thanks for posting these - i hadn't seen any of them, well i actually wasn't looking either. does she not realize that her kids will look like her before "shots"..????

the only reason the PS is an issue is because she chose to screw w/her face rather than have a nest egg for her children & now the good citizens of the state of CA get to pick up her medical tab.

too much to read through in the past pages - but i get patty wouldn't have a problem with her daughter getting PS, living at home with her child - should a windfall happen. that's fine in her home, but not fine on the back of tax payers.

patty, this in response to your statement my answers in blue:

*there isn't anyone here who can't relate to her or anyone else in the world in some way.

there is absolutely NOTHING i can relate to about this woman

*Who has never taken a dime from ANY form of assistance?

never a dime. moved out of my parents home with luggage as a graduation gift @18 - never went back. no student loans, no state/fed gov assitance - nothing. worked my way through grad school - able to retire @ age 36. now back in school pt (law), and am wking pt in my prior field. the only financial gifts i was given were wedding presents.

*Who has never spent money on something they wanted instead of something they needed.

i did - wanted a pair of shoes over a steak diner - still didn't have a mouth to feed other than mine.

*Who has children without a father?

i wouldn't - i didn't grow up w/out a father....but life happens, you don't intentionally pursue that life

*Who has never lived with their parents after they turned 18 and should have been supporting themselves.

NOPE - not me, not ever

*Who has never put things on hold and/or had to depend on someone else to help them till they finish their education.

not me - was self reliant at any early age, went w/out certain luxuries while working FT & going to grad school at night. didn't have a mouth to feed, otherwise school might not have been an option.

*Which one of you have never made a stupid choice or decision in life?

yep i have - wasn't aresponsible for another life other than my own regarding said choice.

*Who has never accepted charity?

me

Who has never done something that turned out to be far more complicating then you thought it would be?

i have - again, wasn't responsible for another life

these assertions really annoyed me yesterday when i read them. there are people out "there/here" who really can't just relate to this woman - do we want ill regard to her children??? absolutely not - she however is not a suitable parent & i hope they are taken from her and put in proper homes.

going through IVF is devastating & financially crippling to some - she's made nothing more of a mockery of this.

ok - off rant.

Wow...what a thread.

Very simply - I agree with most of you. Nadya S. should NOT have had further IVF until she secured her CURRENT children's well being. That means a home that is not close to foreclosure, college funds, etc.

Before you ask - yes, I did all of that for MY children (though I've only got 3 not 14). I have done without many times to make sure my children got what THEY needed.

To have further IVF is irresponsible and I think criminal. She cannot provide for the children she HAS, yet she selfishly asked to be implanted with MORE. I cannot, in all good conscience, say that what she did was correct or even sane.

Now that the babies are here, I fear for their safety if they stay with her. She has NOT shown that she has the good sense or fiscal responsibility to raise that many children. They should be adopted out with a provision that they can be kept in contact with each other. The babies should not suffer because their incubator (she is NOT a mother) made a bad decision.

This is a sad situation, made even sadder because now it appears that she is going to try and PROFIT from the situation. If any money is given to the family, it should be held in an irrevocable trust and an administrator appointed so that Nadya cannot touch ANY of the money and the bills related to the children go straight to the administrator. Administrators should be changed every so often to avoid any appearance or actual impropriety. Excess funds should be invested for the children's care and / or education.

I weep for the babies...Nadya does not get ANY sympathy from me. She KNEW exactly what she was doing, and she was WRONG. There is no honor or glory in what she has done - and I cannot believe any good force in this universe would back her on this situation.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
