Do they hurt? My surgeon (I've heard) doesn't do local anesthetic or any numbing meds before he does the fills...how much is that going to hurt? When should I get my first fill if my surgery is scheduled for 3/8?

I wasn't numbed before either one of my fills, and they were painless. The only suggestion I have is look at the ceiling. DO NOT look at the needle. I made that mistake before my second fill and it made me kind of anxious. It still didn't hurt, but I thought it was going to.

I just had my fist fill on the 15th with no local or any numbness. I was totally nervous more about this than the actually surgery but it was totally pointless the most I felt was a bit of presser thats it.

good luck with your journey. :(

Ok at the risk of people thinking I am wimp (and if you do don't tell me you think I am)- I had my first fill done without it being numb - never again, it hurt and he was using fluro to see my port. The second two times I have been numb and very happy about it.

I suppose each person has their own pain tolerance - mind you I have had two tattoos and my belly button pierced - go figure.

You probably will have your first fill, if you need one, four to six weeks after surgery, but it does vary. I don't get numbing, and I barely even feel it. It's never hurt.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
