Just need to vent - I'm stupid

Recommended Posts

I had a fill 1 cc three weeks ago and had no restriction. In fact, I gained about 4 pounds. So yesterday I went and got another fill .5 cc.

My dr doesn't suggest liquids only afterwards and I regret it. I have been able to eat everything until this fill. Right after the fill I had 4 rice crackers and hummus. Then, last night I had a bit of sausage (bad choice now but I had been eating it up to this fill just fine). And pb forever. And acid reflux, etc. This morning 1/4 c of Water went down ok. When I tried 1/2, it was too much. called the dr this morning. He is out of town working at another hospital for 5 days. I just had 1/2 c of beef broth and that seems to be okay.

I am so dumb. I have read enough here to know that I should just be more conservative than his rules. I want to beat myself over the head with a baseball bat.

Thanks for letting me vent here. I'm going to go get my leg hair waxed off at the beauty shop. Maybe the pain from that will keep me distracted.

I can't eat sausage since banding, it sticks every time I've tried... notice once was not enough... do you seem tighter in the am? Many of us find that we do better later in the day with eating or drinking liquids, even warm ones. I have to be up at least an hour before attempting even a cup of coffee, unless I want to feel it sitting on my chest for an hour. You can't be too stupid... you got banded didn't you? :)

GUess this is why so many doctors reccomend liquids for atleast 24 hours after a fill to let things settle. Your not dumb , youjustlistened to your Dr. which anyone would do.Go on liquids for atleast 24-48 hours, you need ot rest your stoma and esophagus. If you continue to eat it will be a vicious cycle and youwill most likely continue to PB since you are most likely swollen from the fill and the PB you had

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
