Stay away from the nonfat/lowfat stuff as it usually has more sugar to compensate for the lack of taste! I was always a fan of blue cheese myself when I was doing the low carb thing. Just be sure to read the label.

Just read the nutritional info on the labels...it lists carbs.

Regular Salad Dressing is mostly FAT so it's ok on a low carb diet (like atkins) but not really OK at all on a low fat/low carb diet (like one to shrink your liver)

Keep it to a drizzle of oil - something with healthy fat like olive oil or macadamia oil. We actually absorb more of the Vitamins and minerals in raw veg when there's some fat eaten at the same time.

I usually use olive oil and some salt and pepper, but even that these days doesnt excite me, lol. I've come to quite dislike salad (as in raw veg - lettuce, carrot, cucumber, tomato) and I'm not sure why.

OOOooo, that reminds me! I LOVE the house salad at our local middle eastern food place, sooooooo good!! All they put on it is oil, lemon, and salt and pepper. Wow, I can hardly wait to eat regular food again, MMMmmmm:w00t:

Hi, I'm in the middle of pre-op diet - being banded on 3rd February, and was wondering the same thing. I've been sneeking the tiniest bit of Tomato sauce because I just can't eat steak or other meats without. I'll tell my dietitian on Friday and see what she says.

I'm also being banded on Feb. 3rd, but have not been put on any diet yet. Over the phone they just said to start low carb/high Protein two weeks out and at my appointment one week out they would tell me what I needed to eat. I just don't know what number I need to keep my carbs under during the day and how much protein I should be getting?

I'm on my pre-op diet and I'm allowed 2 cups of vegetables per day, plus 2 tbsp of fat free dressing.

However, I really like those salad spritzer things because a few sprays covers my whole salad and its low in calories (each spray is 1 calorie) and carbs (1g per 10 sprays) and it has no fat. The Caesar kind is good and theres an asian one thats pretty tasty.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
