I Am Back, Banded, and In NO Pain!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Just got back this morning. Off topic but it is hotter here then it was in Tiajuana! I had fun and met some wonderful people. I am in no pain and I never have been in any. My surgery took 15 minutes! The doctor came out and was telling my mom how healthy I was. I guess he said I have SOOO much muscles in my stomach he couldn't believe it. He also said that if you just took my liver and looked at it, you would have never known that it belonged to an overweight person! Well just wanted to let everyone know I was back and I was doing good.

Kylie

Hi Just,

I fly out in the morn. to see Dr Ortiz. I hope hope hope I am in as good a shape as you in 2 days! My stomach muscles should be really good too (under the lard) because I have been doing sit ups like never before since Feb and I can really tell too. I hope that I am in good enough shape to come out of this in flying colors as you did.

I'm so glad you did.

P.S. I'm going to write a letter to my family (Husband & 4kids) incase something bad happens. Did any one else do this?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
