Hi folks -

Dr. Jacob Joffe did my surgery last spring in Sarnia. I've had a number of problems and the decision has been made that I need another surgery to see what the problem is with the band, perhaps replace it.

Today he told me that there has been a complaint against him made to the College of Physicians and his license has been suspended. Inspiring right!!

Anyway, I wondered if anyone knew anything about this or how to find out any information.

I read about Dr. Joffe a couple of years ago on a Canadian Bandster site on Yahoo. It's been over a year since he left his practice with Dr. Yau and then I had heard he had started a new practice... If you go to the Globe & Mail website and do a search on Dr. Joffe you will get a few stories. I've pasted a small clip below....I'm not going to pay to read it all.

Wow, That's unbelievable. Be happy, Gloria, that your follow up care was minimal. I hope you find a very good Dr to work out the problems you are having with your band.

Wow that is scary. I am sorry that you were unfortunate enough to have him as a doctor. I hope you can find a different doctor to do your next surgery.
