Hi Everyone!

I am having a moment. It doesn't help that I am 3 days into TOM.

I try so hard to be very positive. I understand my band is not magical but I am so frustrated.

I was banded on 10/16/08 and have lost about 50 pounds. I made a committment to myself that I was going to get this right once and for all. I watch my calories and journal everything I eat, I have been walking 2 miles everyday through an in home audio program BUT the scales have not budged. I weigh the same as I did when I got my last fill about a month ago.

I even changed the battery in my scale thinking it was old and may be incorrect. I just don't get it. Maybe when my TOM is over I will see the scales change. I'm realistic here; 1 pound lost per week and I would be the happiest girl in town! I don't expect to lose a lot of weight each week but I do expect to lose something.

I know everyone has been through this and can relate to my frustration but I just needed to vent.

Thanks for listening!!!

Wow 50 pounds already, Great job!

I understand your frustration, but it sounds like your body is getting use to your exercise routine. Try adding weights to your walk. Hills and inclines work best to boost your body into a different direction during exercise.

Try and shorten the time it takes you to complete the two mile walk. It will help. I already lost three pant sizes from exercise and tracking calories, along with the Band of course.

I gain about 4 lbs during TOM; keep up all the good things you're doing and the scale will drop the next few weeks, you'll see. Congrats on that great weight loss!

I'm sorry but what does TOM mean?

I am pretty sure it means time of the month. TOM = period

Congrats on your results!

Wait and see what movement you get when Aunt Flow leaves...

Beyond that, change up your workout routine and be certain you're challenging yourself enough. Sometimes increasing your calorie intake for a few days with get things going too.

Good luck!

How many calories are you getting each day? I am counting too, and generally eat about 1000. When the scale wasn't moving, I started cycling. One day I will eat 800-1000 the next day 1000-1300 and back and forth. Worked for me!

BTW, we were banded on the same day and I think we're both doing terrific!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
