Hey, Thanks for asking.

I am 10 days out now, and everything is going great. This whole thing was easier than I thought it was going to be.

The first day was the just terrible, but by day 4 I was doing so well, I went back to work.

On day 3 I woke up with a pounding headache, but I figured out that a small cup of coffee would solve that.

My liquid phase ends in 4 days and then I can start the mushys, but I don't even care, really I am not hungry, and am not interested in food at all.

The one thing that I am really having trouble getting used to is that my sense of being full feels different, so I am trying to learn all new signs that I need to stop.

2 oz of yogurt drink fills me up and keeps me happy for 4 hours without a problem. I am so used to pouring a whole glass of whatever, and now I have to stop.

I am back to the gym and having no problems.

Best wishes,

Ira

Things are still going great, I still am having some problem figuring out when I am full. It is more about the discipline of only putting 3 oz of whatever on my plate instead of taking the amount I am used to, or even half of what I am used to.

Other than that, still loosing.

I can totally relate to that. I'm sure its difficult to undo the habbit of filling the entire 10" plate (okay thats what I do and I go back for 2nds oy).

I'm guessing a smaller plate would help, like the ones you use under a coffee cup (notice I said cup not mug lol).

WOWEEE Guy, 25 lbs down... YOU ROCK !!!!! (who said American Idols have to be able to sing ? )

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
