Wow, you're going to go straight to he!$

Lighten, up, you blew it, but it sounds like you have little to no restriction. Go to phase 2: mashed potatoes with very small peices of roast beef (or chicken) and gravy, scrambled eggs with cheese and small peices of sauted sausage all scrambled together.

I got really depressed after being on liquids for 3 weeks (2 before and 1 after) I got over it when I started eating stull like the above -- just watch your portions and ask your doctor how soon you can have a fill (1 week is too soon I think, mine said I needed to heal for at least 6 weeks before he would do a fill)

You still need to talk to your doctor. You may not have slipped NOW, but from what I understand the movements your stomach makes when digesting food can make the healing process less effective, resulting in a weak bind. Because of this weakness, you are much more likely to slip later. I may have not gotten the band yet, but I've been reading constantly for the past 6 months and this seems to be the more realistic part of the problem. You may also want to seek counseling to help you deal with your emotions now that you can't use food. Hope it all works out for you.

awful, you'll be alright once you start getting your fills.

Good Luck! Annie May

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
