:crying:does it take a day or two to get the full feeling from my fill.

This is my second band the first one got infected and had to be replaced. After the wound healed, I had the second one put in in October and now I really want to start feeling full. After I ate tonight I got a little upset.

I had my first fill yesterday i had liquids last night and then today i had an egg for lunch and for dinner harder food. I really didn't feel full after i ate i felt a little sick.

So my question is does it take a day or two to get that full feeling or is my fill not enough do you all think? I had 7cc

It usually takes a fill or two to get that full feeling. On average around four fills. I felt a little more restriction with each fill and the fifth fill was the charm.

I have heard it take three to four fills to get that full feeling. Right now, I do have the full feeling. It does not take much food to make me feel full. My doctor is very agressive with fills. She placed 3cc in my 10cc band at surgery. And 1.5cc at 4-week post op.

I got my first fill DEC 3, and I can't really say I get that full feeling either, maybe more today than a week ago, but not much at all. I've heard and read on different blogs it can take up to 2 weeks before it kicks in, and now I'm reading several fills...I too am ready to get that full and satisfied feeling after a meal, but until then, I try

and limit my intake and tell myself I am full. I'm hoping that in another few weeks I get another fill and pray this one starts working for me. Good luck,

Texas

Please excuse my ignorance but i'm here hoping to get educated. What does "fill" mean? I see so many around here taking about it.

A fill is when a doctor places a saline Fluid into the port to expand the band. A needle is utilized to insert the Fluid into the port.

The fill helps expand the band to tighten the small stomach pouch.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
