Who cannot drink fruit juices or doesn't like them.

Recommended Posts

I have this problem as a child all we had was diet pop and milk. no juice or Water (we grew up on a well) just milk and pop, hence i don't care for juice except oj and that kills my belly pre banding and now im worried that if i drink it i will erode my band.

apple and grape juice make me gag and well then it loosens deals on the other end and i can't tolerate that with IBS already.

cranberry just doesn't taste good

and the fusions that they have made are just down right yucky in my opinion.

just wanted to get a little thing going

I'm not a big juice drinker, I'm a believer in eating the fruit.< /p>

I dont buy juice because its no better for the kids than soda, full of sugar, high calories, and they tend to guzzle it. so I'm raising them the same way i was raised - skim milk or Water to drink.

I've also got ingrained in me the habit of not drinking calories. I would no more ingest a couple of glasses of juice a day than eat a family block of chocolate daily. Fast track to weight gain. I drink Water. Its one of those healthy habits lots of fat people have. Calorie wise, you might as well be drinking Coke. Although if you truly dont eat any other fruit, then a glass of juice in the morning is probably a good idea.

In case I sound too virtuous and perfect, I wake up and head straight for the coffee, before i can do ANYTHING else.

I am not a juice drinker at all. I don't even like all the bottled drinks out there on the market. Guess I am just weird.

I don't like plain milk either, but am able to drink milk with the No Sugar Instant Carnation Drink Mix.

I have started drinking De-Caf (Iced) Tea with Sweet and Low and *Tru Lemon. I cant stand drinking this tea hot, but cold works for me.

I personally like Water, but have added some of the various sugar free Additives to it to make it a bit more interesting!!

We're not really supposed to drink calories on the band, except for when we're in the liquids phase. You won't be able to drink pop after your surgery, so start finding things you can drink! I like the flavored waters (non-carbonated) by Dannon or Aquafina, as well as Zero, by Powerade, which is a zero calorie drink like gatorade. I also drink propel but it has some calories in it.

I also drink a lot of crystal light, since I am not fond of plain Water so much. I really like the pomegranate flavor right now, but got completely sick of the fruit punch flavor which was about all I drank for a couple months.

I stopped drinking pop the minute my surgery was in the works, and it was hard because I used to drink several diet sodas a day.

My doctor said juice is a no-no because you will get much better nutrition from actually eating the fruit rather than juice or a smoothie.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
