Urrrgh... Terrible ER/Slippage Day

Recommended Posts

When I was too tight, I also had sour stomach. I had even threw up something from the previious day that didn't go anywhere. It definitely happens that way.

SnowWhite760,

I see that by the time you had surgery you only had 20 pounds to lose. I was just curious, did insurance pay for your surgery or are you self pay? Where did you have your surgery done?

My doctor submits to insurance at your highest weight, but mandates you lose 10% of your weight before surgery. The approval or paperwork - I can't remember wich - took a while to get in, so while I waited, I kept losing because I was told if I gained ANY back, he'd not operate. We're told to lose that so it shrinks our liver - less complications - and to prove we can do the diet after surgery I suppose. Ideally, he'd like me at 97 to 107, and for me that's rail thin... I am happy at about 120-125... so, that is why I say I've got like 20 more to go. And yes, the insurance paid. I had co-morbs that were apart of my obesity. (I think you can find all your previous posts you've done, so you can see my story, or even hop by my blog and read about it there. I started my Crash diet in July, so if you go to my blog, you can start reading from July and then move forward. I have sleep study info, weights as I was losing, pics of weight loss, current pics too...) soapboxamy.blogspot.com

You have done an excellent job getting the weight off with the pre-op diet. You are so close to goal now it wont take much to get there. Congratulations.

Have you already seen improvements in your comorbidities?

Thanks.

My band is partially filled to 4cc's which is fairly open. My usualy sweet spot is 7.3 cc's but I am much too tight at that level pregnant. I am finding post pregnancy that I have some restriction at 4 cc's but I had no restriction before at 6.5 cc's. I was surprised by mhom much pregnancy would affect band tightness, I wasn't really expecting a difference until I was much further along.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
