weird to be heavier 4 days after surgery?

I was banded 4 days ago (Tuesday) and still weigh about a pound more than the morning of surgery. I weighed almost 4 pounds more on day 2, so at least its getting better. Since I'm only consuming clear liquids, I assume that I'm just retaining water for some reason. I keep reading posts from people who lost 10-12 pounds in the week following surgery, so wondering if I should be concerned. . .

I wouldnt be concerned with it. It is probably retention like I had. Watch the sodium in your liquids especially canned soups. They are sky high. Believe me it will go away and when it does it will be quick. The bloating feeling lasted for almost a week for me and then one day bam it was gone. I can't tell you if it was gas or what but it just went away. Also just one pointer. Don't concern yourself with others weight loss. Everyone is different and will lose differently.

I had surgery yesterday and I'm 8lbs heavier than yesterday morning. and for the past 12 days I've been drinking all low sodium broths. I think its from the bloating and the 4-5 bags of potassium chloride I had in my IV.
