Snowing in new orleans

Recommended Posts

Coool!

I live way up in Virginia and haven't seen any snow yet. There has been talk of flurries once or twice on the news but I haven't seen any.

I grew up in the mountains of PA where it snowed in November and pretty much stayed around until spring and I loved it!

I'm 52 years old and this is only the 5th time its snowed here in my lifetime. The entire city is freaking out. You have to understand how totally awsome this is for us southerners. We don't do SNOW. It's magical.

It's a Winter Wonderland!!!

Out of the few people that showed up for work...nobody has a camera we can connect to a computer to send pics. It's so thick that they are closing all bridges and overpasses. The city doesn't own equipment to clear the streets of ice and snow. (pumps to pump out Water from failed levees... yes) Looks like we will have the rest of the day off. Just waiting for the OK to go home.

Thanks for the replys.

I am in Illinois you all should come here you could have as much snow and ice as you wanted i haven't seen grass in probably 2 wks, suppose to get more tonight and tomorrow also. I suppose if you don't usually get snow it would be awesome, I would like to live somewhere where i could understand that feeling of loving snow lol. Merry Christmas to all

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
