Hey everybody,

I am about 4 weeks out from surgery and doing pretty well.I have not had a fill yet and I was banded on 11/11/08 and will not be able to be filled until 01/14/09.This will be almost 9 weeks for me.I was just wondering how do you know exactly when you need a fill? How long should you be able to go in between eating? as long as your losing weight are you okay?Any advice would be appreciated. Also did anyone else have a hard time getting in all their Water in the beginning?:tt1:

Sip, sip, sip. Keep that Water bottle with you and try to sip every few minutes.

Ideally when you are filled to your "green zone" you will be able to eat your bandster meal (3 oz. lean Protein, 1/2 cup vegetables) and feel satisfied for 3-4 hours. I'm not quite there yet, three fills out. I get a soft "stop" sensation that tells me I have eaten enough, but the hunger comes back in 1-2 hours. Almost there:thumbup:!

Another sign that you need a fill is if you find yourself trolling for Snacks and wanting to graze.

I agree with everything orea15 said.

You need a fill when you stop losing 1-2 pounds a week on average, and when you are hungry in between meals (physically hungry not mentally hungry). However, it is important to keep eating the protiens first because they go down slow and help you to feel satisfied.

It is hard to get the Water in but you have to make a conscious effort to always keep the water bottle near and keep sipping all day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
