Specific diet after WLS??

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone tried to follow the South Beach diet after WLS? This is what i've most had success with (as far as losing weight) and wasn't sure if anyone else tried this after surgery and had success. Thanks!

Not by the book but my diet is closest to South Beach. I eat low GI carbs with healthy lean Proteins. I do not eat anything with white flour in it. I get my carbs from natural sources, oatmeal, fruits, veggies and dairy and occasionally have whole grain wrap bread. I don't eat starches (pasta, potato, rice, corn etc.) and I don't eat sugar. I don't count carb and Protein grams but it is pretty much the same principle.

I actually keep South Beach frozen dinners on hand for when I am in a pinch for something to eat. And I use their Cereal bars every so often to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Me too! Not by the book, but my doctor has a rule. Protein first and everyhting else there after. So basically it follows the some componets of the South Beach diet, in getting plenty of protein and low carbs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
