band slippage question

If your band slips does that mean you need to have another surgery to fix it?

Also, if my band did slip would it be really obvious because I would be in a lot of pain? I have been banded for 2 weeks and I read a few stories on this forum.

When my slip happened i couldn't keep anything down. I also had heartburn in spite of taking the purple pill. I didn't need surgery, they just unfilled me for a few weeks and then did another barium swallow and it seemed to have fixed itself. I will be at risk for another slip so i will be careful not to get overfilled like i was before.

good luck.

It depends on the type of slip and how severe it is.

Some people don't have any symptoms. Some have indigestion, some are unable to eat and some have severe pain.

Some like Annie need only to get an unfill to readjust the band and others need surgery to readjust it some even have to have it removed.
