Recommended Posts

Just wanted to say hi to everyone and encourage you to keep up the good fight against to bulge.

Things have been really hectic for me and I haven't been posting much - sorry. My husband was in the hospital for 11 days in November, got out the Friday before Thanksgiving, then we had in-laws in town, my birthday, tons of doctor's appointments and yesterday he had gamma knife surgery. I would hope things will slow down but I know they won't. We have my husband's birthday coming up in a week with his big birthday party the day before, lots of preparations for that, then I need to finish the Christmas stuff, decorate and in between all that we have more doctor's appointments, a thyroid scan which I have to put him on a low iodine diet next week for it. Okay, I'm stressing myself out just typing this. LOL

Mainly I just wanted to say hi to you all. I'm thinking about you and wishing you many losses. Hang in there guys. I think the new year will really help us a lot. It's the time everyone focuses on being healthier and that will help me out immensely.

Wow, you do have a lot on your plate right now Ezma. :girl_hug: I hope your husband is doing ok and will be feeling better soon. With all you have going on, you're still stopping by to think of us. God Bless you! I'm gonna keep you and your hubby in my thoughts and prayers. You hang in there too - we are all here for you as well! Be sure to take time to relax in between all that hustle and bustle.

Wishing you many weight losses too! Thinking healthier during this season is a good way to go. (I gotta avoid those darn Christmas cookies!) I agree the New Year will help. It'll be here before we know it!

Hang in there sweetie ((((more warm hugs and prayers))))

Merry Christmas and I hope your Husband has a wonderful birthday, and all the doctor appointments go by smoothly and fast.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Wow, this makes me so sad. Where the heck is everyone? Guess we're all super busy at this time of year. Would be nice if everyone would just do a quick check in and hello here. Thinking of you all and wishing you a very happy holiday.

Hi Ezma, VV's and all. The preperations that take our time are many this time of yr. DH & I had our 50th wedding Anniversary this yr and are getting ready for a 2nd.honeymoon in Jan. So we are busy with getting ready to see Australia and New Zealand. Family will be in for Xmas. I still find it hard to put any message out there. The only way to get anything done is to just do it no matter the fear inside. This is a whole new way of life.Joy and love through this holiday season. Audrey

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
