I had my band put on Aug. 22, 2008 and I have had 2 fills in my 9cc band. The first time they put 4cc and the second time they put 1cc. I still dont fill anything. I can eat all I want to eat and nothing bothers me. I get my next fill Dec. 15, so I hope that works.

Hi, I had my surgery on aug. 18th. I just had my second fill, but i still feel like i can eat whatever and however much i want. i have 4ccs, in a 9cc band. i keep hoping for restriction. i lost 20 pounds in the first 2 months, but now i have been stuck for an entire month. are you still losing even though you feel no restriction? i feel like the "tool" has not really kicked in yet, and it scares me a little. I don't want to gain any weight back!!

I have lost 30 pounds so far and have not gained any back. I can eat anything I want to and as much as I want but I dont. My husband had his Oct. 6, 2008 and has had one fill and they put 2cc. in him and I can eat twice as much as he can and he cant eat bread at all and he get full fast. He has lost 30 pounds also but he is alot bigger than I am. I think when we get to our sweet spot then we will be ok. I am not losing any weight right but I am trying real hard not to gain any either.

I keep trying not to compare to others, I KNOW all of our bodies are different. But when I see someone down 50 pounds that had a fill the same time as me, or even after, it is hard!! I started at 237, and I am 217 now. I just REALLY want to see the 190's. LOL I keep thinking the first 20 was pretty easy. So, I want the next 20 to be the same!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
