Can't fit in enough healthy stuff

Recommended Posts

I'm having trouble making sure I get enough Protein while still maintaining enough fruits and vegetables. I always eat my protein first and then am too full to eat anything else.

I don't like to drink too much protein. I drink a shake in the morning, but don't want to do more than that as I believe it's healthier to EAT your food, not drink it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

My dietician recommends getting in #3 8 oz glasses daily..one between each meal..

that adds about 24 grams right there and also gets in a good dose of Calcium and Vitamin D..That leaves me only having to get in 31 more grams for my recommended 55 per day.

I warm it up in the evening with a little splenda and vanilla and it really works to chill out my night time munches.

I drink v-8 and make a blended fruit and veggie drink!

I still drink Protein shakes in the morning --thats all my band will allow in the am. I eat tuna, chicken, cheese, almonds and walnuts as well.

That's brilliant! I had forgotten about v-8! I'll go check our their products! Are they high in sodium though?

I used to eat tuna every day, in fact I had a whole routine. But because it was always the same thing I grew tired of it. Ironically, that's also when my weight loss slowed down. :tongue2:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
