So tina you dont wanna talk to me about thinning hair... i am 24 and they already say i have bad alopecia..

I use the Nioxin hair treatments, its pretty pricey but it keeps my scalp supposedly holding onto hair and since my Hair loss has slowed since starting it i believe it.. i just wish i would get growth..... Im thinking of dieing my hair and perming, any of you know how to do it??? They say a perm slight wave adds a bounce and makes it look like more hair......

SOOO last night was auds first nite in her new bed... she did awesome. Woke when i went on my c25k at 9:30 and i guess she got out of bed and walked out with all her blankets lol. NO TEARS, normally we have tears in the mornings..I am so darn proud of her, i hope she stays good.... Ill post pics later on today when i find what i did withthe camera:D

SO, since i wanna do the 5k this winter i started the couch to 5k.. i have 2 things to say.. 1. on the darn treadmill ican run for 10 min straight and im fine... on cement it doesnt work that way... lol 2. I am excited to finish it but im scared ill hurt my knee again..... What was cool is i finished mine and mikes normal 1.5 miles in 20 min so i kept going i did 2 miles in 30 min.. BUT i think i am over running or i have asthma.. my chest starts POUNDING soo hard it hurts... and i look at my heart monitor and it says 197 and up for my rate... that doesnt sound good to me what do you girls think?

Oh im gonna pay for the 5k ill email you all the info when i do:D Im really excited about it..and my hubby and baby might do it with me:D And it would be nice if some of you wanna do it too!!!

Ok happy forth everyone!

It took me a week to get back down to 188.... Just wondering if its just me or if its normal...

I just finished my first 5k in about 10 years. I walked most of it, but I did run at the end. It's funny, I was not running all that much faster than I walked, but boy my lungs were not happy! It was fun though. Then I came home and did my Wii Active, but not the running or the squats & lunges.

I'm definately doing more 5ks. I don't care if I'm fast, but I'm doing them! Hopefully I can run a little more for the next one. But I figure, I started at the very back of the pack, and I finished before a bunch of people so I'm proud of myself. And I'm totally serious about that Tri Gril Tri next year. Now I just need to get a bike. And swim better. And run more. That should be no problem! lol. Happy 4th Ladies!

Oh, ladies, I need help - I'm about to give up and quit! I broke out the scale - even though I promised myself I wouldn't - I had gained back .9lbs of the 1lb I lost. I just don't get it - I figured out my calories yesterday and even though I had the Pork rinds I had a total of 700 cals. I've been power walking 4 miles a day and doing the C25K all last week - WTF????? I don't get it - so today I say the hell with it and I'm drinking crystal light because it doesn't make a damn bit of difference!

Back to 4lbs to go when I was down to 3lbs - here's the messed up part - my waist has gone down from 35.5 in to 34 3/4 in - BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP ME GET TO MY SURGERY DATE!

Sorry for venting but I'm at my whits end, my legs and feet hurt and I just want to scream!

Candra, keep at it.. the .9 is nothing, that could be a glass of Water you drank today, or a bite of food, its honestly nothing. Probably sodium. We all watch the scale mess around, and i agree 1000000% its crap.. but it is what it is. Watch your clothes!

Also id be jazzed with the waist because that is 1 more inch you don't have to worry about post op. This is how i look at my weight loss, i am sooo glad for the weight i lost during preop and im sure ALLLLL of us can agree, that it helped because it was just that much closer to goal.

We all have been hitting plateus, and to be honest ive gone back to my sugar free crystal lite kinda stuff:D I do half Water bottles and half that..

Please dont get discouraged, we all have this point, and you are going to be soo much better after. Just be sure to be journaling.. i honestly think me writing down and posting to the group is what is keeping me on track.. not only am i journaling again, im posting it for the world to see so i think about each damn bite lol.

Happy 4th AND Freedom (thankful for it today)!

Did my stat bike-35 and Wii Active + Fit. Feeling good again! I put on some jams, while doing the Wii, to move w/ music!

CONGRATS Heather, I am so excited for you, I called w/ a msg, lol. Last October I did my 2nd 5K ( for Mercy Ministries here in Lincoln), the very first one, I was the last to finish...BUT finished! Last year, I was NOT last, and ran in the last .25 mile! So I rejoice with you, YEAHHHHH

I am still thinking bout the 5K that Riley is a part of in Tahoe, 9/27th, not sure in she is doing 10K. But, I would really like to try it! Any one else 'down' for it? hehehe

Candra, I am so sorry, forgive yourself, pick yourself up, and sing HIGH HOPES...everyone knows that an ant cant...move a rubber tree plant, but she has...High Hopes...

Honey we are standing with you, Jes, Tamra, all Pre-ops in here. So excited for how close you are already!

Yeah Nicole for Audrey, tis bittersweet, BUT, it is an opportunity for growth...for u 2 too!

Hope you all having a safe AND cool 4th. Donna :smile2:

I have this hair stuff sorta like the Nioxin I am gonna try. Just my hair is really thin and when I brush it more comes out...............I like losing the weight and I guess it is the trade off. I hear it comes back in about six months..........just as long as it doesn't all fall out I guess I am ok.

Candra that happens to me all the time the 1 up one down. I really think it is Water weight and 4 pounds is really, really close.............I mean think of all you have lost!! YOu can do this and your walking way more than me!!

I haven't been able to eat much today. To much PB potential. I am only eating a few bites and only the watermelon and rasberries are working right now. Lots of Water. THe protien stuff is a struggle right now...........Gonna try again in a few hours. I am too full of fruit right now!!

Hey Ladies!!!

Christine I had so much fun!!! So glad you came over...the kids crashed that evening!!!Wait tell you all see her...WOW she looks amazing!!!!!

My hubby will hlep me down load the picture!! :smile2:

So I wore a skirt today....I honestly could not tell you the last time I wore a skirt.....I felt so comfortable...which made me think...when was the last time it was summer and I was not sweating in some pair of jean capris.....I love this...

I am struggling with my eating again...I guess thats why they try to push the reality of our eating issues,...the band does not cure that...thats for sure!!!! But it helps me not push it.....but for some reason I have picked up eating chips again.....my biggest weakness has always been like chips and dips.....well now with Bar B Q season there everywhere...GGRRRR.....

But because of the band I can't eat as many as I want so I'm not gaining anything BUT I'm not loosing because of it either......GGGRRR

I'm a pund away from being under 200...come on women get a grip!!! :)

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
