HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Suzie!! Wow 26 years is something to be proud of!

Jane - I'm sorry, honey. Man, they are all over the map on this one, aren't they? Doctors!!! Hmmmmph! My stepson-in-law is a brand new doctor! He's doing his residency at a top hospital here in Houston in the ER. I am soooooo glad to have a doctor in the family now! He'll know who all the good doctors are -- that alone is worth all the effort he's put into his education! Otherwise picking a doctor is such a crapshoot!

Tracy - Have you already gotten your new van?

Hero has an appt. to meet our vet this morning, then I'm off to get my hair cut. Gotta work on some jewelry then dinner out with friends tonight...which will be fun. We're going "downtown" for a night out...WOO HOO!

Ya'll have a great day!

I talked to a friend last night who suggested a second opinion. I think what I am going to do is wait and see what the biopsy shows, and take it from there. I can't let this rule my life right now, cause it is driving me nuts!!

Woohoo that was so cool!!!

I slept in late, and when I woke up I still laid in bed watching tv.. and I felt what could be kicking, or a muscle spasm.. so I put my hand there and I felt a distinct kick, not a muscle spasm.. and so I pushed back a couple times, and then he kicked me 3 times!! I almost squealed, so I called my mom and told her and then texted ya'll.

In my groggy haze this morning the dog was whining to go out, so I let her out and left her there an hour (she is indoor dog, so she gets pissy about being outside, but I was too tired).. Day went on and neighbor came to the door and asked "Do you have a brown boxer?" (Same neighbor that I had to ask him to stop letting his dogs crap in my yard).. so I moved and showed him Cassy who was sitting behind me. He said "Oh.. there's a brown boxer in my fence, I can't figure out how it got there and it can't get out". How weird?? I've not seen any other boxers in the neighborhood and I can't imagine how it got in his fence, we have the wood privacy fences and I don't see any gaps in them. My heart raced for a second, I was like crap what did she do in ONE HOUR?! Whew.

The party last night went great, everyone was about 40 minutes late to a surprise b'day!! I was like where is everyone, I asked for a head count ahead of time and 24 people said they were coming and not a soul was there.. luckily my friend was an hour late, it ended up being a bad wreck on the interstate so everyone was stuck in traffic. Everyone ended up getting there before she did, which was a relief. Everybody got SMASHED. So fun to be the sober folks amidst a big group of drunk people! Our mutual friends kept hugging me and saying how much they loved me and I just laughed, and someone said "Aww it sucks you can't be drunk" so I immitated them and stumbled around the room hugging everyone and babbling about loving everybody lol. Russ didn't drink either, so I at least had company. 2 of the husbands were the angry drunks, they are good friends but at some point they kept slapping each other and wrestling and yelling.. and I'm trying to make sure they don't break anything in the nice house. Around midnight I was so exhausted and I felt like I was going to get sick if I didn't go to bed.. party pooper I am. I hid everyone's keys and we came home. Went well though, I'm pleased with my first (and last) party! Tonight is nutcracker, one of our coworkers is the lead male dancer. Same coworker who found out his wife is pregnant and they had no idea. I don't like nutcracker, I got roped into this somehow.. going to be a loooong night.

HI girls~

Pamela, you have to "rayd" Macy's "san" with the "rat" accent! Remember in Texas Snow is a 2 syllable word Su-No!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta LOVE it!!

Practice for the church play was a disaster as expected, although one of the beast girls, scratched the crap out of Kinsey's face. Which broke her heart more than her face. She does not "get" mean kids.

I have her sacked out, hoping she stays that way for another hour. Then she will be in a good humor for the show tonight!

She was so sad, she has a beautiful Christmas dress, and was all ready to get dolled up, and they said no---just casual clothes, shirts and jeans. They will be sitting on the floor for awhile during the show. So she is not getting to dress up. So Rick said to make a date with her for next Thursday evening, and we will all dress up and go to dinner---and go see Santa one more time! He is such a good Papa!

How exciting, feeling the baby kick!!! LOVE it! I remember the flutters, then they move to full on kicks! My moronic ex ask me to roll over one night because the baby was kicking him in the back. Rather than feel excited, he was annoyed! And he was being kicked from the outside!! Lotsa really good reasons he is the EX!!!

Well looks like my SS gift will go out Monday, the PO was only open part of the day, and I have not put it all together yet.

We too are under a weather advisory for the night, supposed to snow. They had the towns Christmas parade last night, Rick and I went down, and it was fun. It is a true small town---and everyone turned out for the parade, the streets were lined with luminarias, and in the park they had a live nativity, and in the Gazebo they had Santa. The local Kiawanas club was giving out hot chocolate. So we took all that in, then went and drove through the fantasy of Lights. Was a nice evening.

We were invited to a party tonight at some friends, but we have Kinsey for the night, and have her program, so we declined. Didn't really hurt my feelings!!! We have one to go to next Sat. night---I am kind of looking forward to that one!

Hives are making a surge-comeback. My head was covered in them about 2 AM---driving me crazy. I went to bed with wet hair, so maybe that irritated my scalp, I have no idea. I have some between the toes on my left foot right now, and on my upper arm. Appetite is so totally out of control, and I have gained almost 5 pounds already! Going to get a fill this week...gotta do something.

Gary is feeling stronger he said, and Becky said he is getting better because he is getting grumpy! Before he was just to weak to complain much. I did not make it to the hospital today. I refuse to take Kinsey, she is well, and I do not want her near the hospital. Rick and I will go tomorrow. I sent movies up to him with Becky.

Saw 2 old friends this morning. One was the only person to "rain on my parade" over the thought of being banded. She was totally 100% against it, and seriously expected me to give up the idea because she was against it (can you say control freak???!!!) She has NEVER mentioned my weight loss, but she did however tell me I looked great today for the first time ever! Shocked me! But because she is so stingy with her comments, it actually made me feel good! LOL

The other friend is the one who was banded along with her husband about a year before me. He lost about 150 pounds and is maintaining it really well. He is like 6'7" tall, and looks as tho he has always been thin! She lost about 35 pounds in the very beginning, and has gained it back, apparantly her band is fine, she is just not working it, and does not get fills. I have no idea, and of course did not ask.

She and her husband built a little home owned business into a huge business! They rent travel trailers--to both everyday vacationers, as well as business. Oilfield companies, hiway construction, other construction. They had to relocate to handle the mass of trailers they have. They are buiding a new Spanish Style home, and it is over 6000 square feet. With the way the economy is right now, I would be so scared! I guess I just don't have as much to lose! LOL

Well time for me to go get ready. Everyone take care, will check in tomorrow if I don't get a chance after the program.

Hugs!!

Kat

Tracy, she is cute as a button! Doesn't look a thing like you, eh? I love the dress...love penguins!

I am chillin' out tonight. Was going to maybe go to holiday party (staff) but the cold has derailed that plan. That is ok...kinda feel a bit "mellow" this year...don't need to Celebrate w/ many, just close friends and family!

Have a great night!

Good morning....tom is being cruel so I am sitting here @ 6:00 AM with a heating pad on my back. UGH, damn Eve.

I met a lady at the school bus stop and we have been talking everyday. Really nice lady. It is nice to have a friend around here! She is bringing her son (actually grandson she is raising) over this evening to play with Macy and we are going to be baking holiday goodies, God help me. Hope I feel better before then! I am staying away from the scales for a while...at least until tom is gone.

Have a great day everyone and make healthy choices :)

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
