Would you know if your pouch is stretched?

Recommended Posts

Maybe I just need another fill or I haven't found the so call "sweet spot"...I have been able to consume way more then 1 1/2 cups of

food at a sitting...I have been forcing myself to stick to smaller portions but during that "time of the month" it's like I have a tapeworm or something....I do chew my food to death so maybe the food it going thru the band easily. I was just wondering if there are signs that you have over stretched your pouch... Would it create any type of infection or hang over the band? Has this happened to anyone? Just curious.

You stretch your pouch by consistently overeating and keeping the pouch overfilled. No you wouldn't feel it or have any side effects you would just have a large pouch which would cause you to eat more.

How many fills have you had? Have you lost weight since your last fill?

It could be that you are due for another fill. Perhaps you weren't filled enough last time or you have lost weight around your stomach causing your band to get loose.

Just as an FYI- Every month, when it is TOM, I also get the tapeworm. I get ravenous and I swear my band loosens. But as soon as those 2-3 days are over, I'm restricted again and feeling great...

This is a HUGE fear of mine. I'm always worried about eating too much ,too little etc. I need to stop worrying ,just not sure how lol.

so if I stretched my pouch a bit and I go get a fill, can I get it to go back down eventually by eating smaller portions again? Will it shrink back up if I go back to smaller portions?

I complained about being able to eat too much to the doctor's husband who answers the phone and he told me I probably stretched the pouch. (cant be that they didnt give me enough of a fill?). So, Im paying for another fill in 2 days to get tighter and see if I too can cut down on portions.

Iv also heard it could be the loss of the fat in the abdomen, and Iv been walking daily, so I have to be losing fat there.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
