I was just banded on the 20th........

I am so confused on how often I have to eat. I am following the full liquid only.

I have creamy Soups, and they are good with Protein, low fat to no fat. I am drinking my Protein shakes too.

So....... why do I feel like I am doing something wrong.

Please tell me how often you ate right after.

Thanks so much

I am also having that " omg what did I do feeling"

Keri

Are you hungry? I really wasn't hungry at all and it was hard for me to get anything down. The nutritionist told me to just have the liquids whenever I wanted, no real rules until I went on mushies. It gets easier every day!

I agree. My doctor said to have something when I was hungry, otherwise just to make sure I stayed hydrated.

I don't honestly know if I am hungry. I am have been craving toast, and wanting other food.

I am just going crazy...

I think I am hungry.......

I really don't know what I did...... I don't regret this decision......I am truely scared though about being a failure

I know what you mean. I have been going through that to, what did i do, why did i do this. I think it is getting use to saying goodbye to food running our lives. I was band on the 18th still on clear liq. Just take what you can right now it is time for healing not losing. and if losing now it is a bonus

I have to keep remembering that. My hubby and kids are so supportive!

I guess I just need someone else to validate these feelings.

Thanks for what you wrote!

If you are anything like me, food has been a comfort for so long and this is more of a psychological journey than anything. It will all be worth it in the end when you are feeling great! I'd say the first 4-5 days are the worst, then you kind of turn a corner and it gets better. I think that these boards really helped me through that time!

I had my surgery last Thu (11/20). Today was the first day I was hungry, and I had some Tomato Soup. I only took a few sips before I felt full.

It's weird to me because after not eating for so long due to the pre op diet, the Soup was soooo good. I wanted to gulp it like a drink, but I totally felt when I got full and put it down. It's such a head game for me.

i can't say it's what you should be doing, only your surgeon knows what's best. but i will tell you my experience during liquids and cream Soups.< /p>

i went to the 99 cent store and bought 4 strainers. cooked my cream soups and strained out the pieces. same with french onion Soup. this is one of my favorite soups, and i was worried it would give heartburn, but i was ok.

for liquids..sugar free pudding. i bought sugar free Jello but i am not big on Jello at all.

also, i'd go to Chili's and order soup from the To Go door...they'd strain it for me, after offering a nice tip. their baked potato soup, strained is perfect. just don't eat until you feel pain...i did, and it sucked.

when you get a craving for something...try putting some spices in your cream soups. liven them up. want soda? try a glass of iced Water with 3 lemon wedges and 3 lime wedges squeezed in. you'd be surprised how good it tastes.

first 11 days on liquids/part mushies? 8 lbs..still losing. but i am eating softer foods now before i go back to regular foods on nov. 28th (gonna cheat on t-giving day haha)...my first fill is on Dec. 3rd.

you made a good choice...never stress on that. wait til you see the results, then you will realize it's crazy to question "should i have done this??"...trust me, i was in the same boat as you on that..i know the feeling. give it 2 weeks and wait til your doctor weighs you...then you will be smiling for 3 straight days after! promise.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
