I started swimming again in june until end aug.

now restarted again as got free swiming cupons that will last me until end of jan.( so no excuses for not going) lol

anyway what im getting to is that today I just beat my own record. I was doing 20 lengths of pool about 1/2 mile in 60 mins.

well today I did 26 lengths in 50 mins and 16 of them was without stopping. (but my arms do ache a bit). as was all done on back stroke.

sorry for bragging but im mega pleased with myself:wink_smile:

take care al

Ann xx

That's really good Ann - I'm very pleased for you. Swimming was never my sport of choice (cycling is), but I'm really glad that you can see the progress you're making. Keep it up xx

I go swimming 6 days a week and it certainly tones your body. The Country club is really lovely and being a pensioner and going off peak it only costs me £5 per week for all the facilities. Plus I have made lots of friends going there and can now swim 10 lengths but I need to up my speed.

Hey, you're entitled to bragg BgB! Well done you.

I am at a stage now when I feel DESPERATE to start taking some exercise but my energy levels won't allow. Have only just come off the liquid diet. My head says GOGOGO but my body's still saying SLOWSLOWSLOW!! LOL.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
