Welcome!

I was banded on 8/25 as well and I'm exhausted! My mom has had several surgeries and she says 6 months. UGH! Yes, that means February!

There is a gal in my support group that had bypass (it's a combo group) the month before and she says she is just now starting to feel like she's got some energy now. A gal I went through the whole process with and was bypassed the same day I got my band says she can't believe all the energy she has. I'm just wondering if it's different for all of us, just like the rest of the experience!

It doesn't help that I have a VERY active (mind, body and soul) 2 1/2 year old DD either!! I'm tired!! LOL!

I had my lapband surgery on October 21st and I've been wondering the same thing! When will I feel like I'm really doing good and get all this wonderful energy everyone talks about? I work out 4-5 times a week and work full-time and I'm just so tired all the time. I'm 3 months & one week out from my surgery and have only lost 30 lbs. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this way and losing slow because I was starting to think there's something wrong with me or that my band isn't working. I've had 2 fills and the doc wouldn't give me a third last time I went because I'd lost 8 lbs in a month. He said I can't come back for 3 months but I'm going back in 1 month and thinking about putting rolls of quarters in my pockets so he can't say I'm losing enough weight and refuse to give me another fill. lol

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
