10 weeks pregnant with port pain

Recommended Posts

I am now 10 weeks pregnant and I have been having alot of pain at my port site. It seems to be mostly after eating. It is just really sore. Even when I haven't eaten in a while, I will get sharp pains from bending over or simple activity. I am concerned that something is wrong with my port? Could it be that things are just moving around in there and it is rubbing on a rib? Has anyone had this kind of pain with pregnancy? I would think if it was because I am too tight, that it would hurt someplace other than my port. Not sure. Please help.

I would also suggest checking with your surgeon. 10 weeks is still pretty early and the baby shouldn't be pressing against your port at this stage. Where is your port located?

My port is on my left side about an inch or so below my rib. When I eat it feels like the turkey timer trying to pop up. Like the turkey is done or something. Well that's how I feel at least.

It is really odd, I just responded to this thread last week with no experience with port pain.

Would you believe I started having port pain over the weekend??? It is just tender, like as if I overdid the exercise just around the port.

Funny thing is, I have been so exhausted lately that my routine of several days a week at the gym has changed. Now the act of "not taking a nap" is about as much exercise as I have been getting, lol.

Please let us know what your doctor says or if the port pain dissapears.

I'm trying to get pregnant and am curious...

Did you have port pain right after surgery? It was almost 6 weeks before I could lie down without pain, so I'm curious if this will bother me down the road.

Have you done and found anything out about your pain? I am 8 months pregnant and i feel like i am dying, literally! This port feels like it is about to pop off. I have never had pain there but it has always stuck out but now it is really sticking out just curious to know what you have found out.

I'm lucky I guess that my port flipped and they moved it from my belly to my chest. I do notice some insignificant pain where the incision (I guess where the port use to be, the scarring inside). It's very minor in the scheme of things, but I would think some port pain when the baby pushes on it is normal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
