I voted 2 days early... I only lost 1 lb this month. Had an unfill due to tightness and then didn't get it all put back in. can pretty much eat anything and everything. Not a good thing with the holidays approaching. I'll have to rely on good old will power. Next fill is 12/15/08

DH and I are going to San Diego for Thanksgiving. We have 2 grown sons and a daughter in law that live in Las Vegas. They will all meet us to Celebrate older DS's 30th birthday on the 28th. Should be fun, fun, fun. I sure do miss those kids. We spent last Thanksgiving in Las Vegas for his engagement party. I'm excited to see the before and after pictures. What a difference a year (and a band) make.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone.

I'm like you Kennergirl. I had 1 cc taken out of my band last week. I had been too tight since my last fill in August and I paid for it with bad reflux. The reflux caused some aspiration of food into my lungs and I ended up with pneumonia on my last cruise. I lost weight though. Like you, I can now eat anything. I do still feel some restriction, however. I will have to be very careful for the holiday. I am flying to Pittsburgh to spend Thanksgiving with my sisters and going home always spells disaster for me. Old habits return. I see the doctor again on December 17 and will hopefully get a slight fill. I do know that I will allow myself to be too tight again. I could hardly eat anything but soft foods or the reflux was really bad. I want to be able to eat fruits, veggies and salads. I really missed them. I got my fruits by making smoothies and finally resorted to baby food to have some veggies. Even those that I cooked managed to cause me some problems. No more. I can lose and still be able to eat most things with the band. NO more reflux for me.

Hi All!

I haven't posted in awhile. Things are good. I am well over the century mark and loving it. My weight has maintained the past 2mos with little, if any fluctuations. I am actually at my target weight of 225lbs but now beginning to think maybe I can get down to 200lbs by the summer.

I have been working out with a trainer since the end of September. I am looking forward to posting my 1 year after picture on 12/20.

Alright, I voted a day late, but whatevs. I'm down 125lbs. It's given me a new sense of confidence that I love, but that has lead me to some not so happy times. More or less stressful times. Anyway, I'm feeling great. I know my ticker says I could lose like another 7lb but I think I'm happy where I am right now. As long as I don't go up a pant size, I think I'll be okay.

Before: 2x tops & 24 pants

Now: M/L tops & 12/13 pants

hola ladies,

everyone is doing great. we are now closer to the big 1 year anniversary.

Thanksgiving day was busy, I cooked all day and ate very little. being with my family was my source of nutrition for that day. I have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren ( one only a week old) so you can imagine the full house.

I finally was able to see the Doctor today and had .8cc removed. I have been having problems with slimming and vomiting since my last appt. in August. It feels so good, when I got home I ate some leftover ham and stuffing, so delis. I was able to drink Water without burping between drinks.< /p>

I wanted to mention that my Doc. had a lab-band poster in his office with a graph mark yellow(need fill) green(perfect)and the red zone (unfill needed) the following are symptoms for unfill. heartburn, slow weight loss, vomiting and can you believe it COUGHING in the evening. which I had. It never crossed my mind that this unexplained coughing could be cause by a too tight band. I just assumed it was due to the cold weather.

of course I mentioned to the Doc. that I had all the above symptoms and was there for an unfill. I wanted 1cc removed, he wanted .3cc's we came to an agreement of .5cc's. so there I am on the table and he tells me "thats odd, the needles in the port, but nothing coming out" great! he massaged my tummy for a second and told me the tubing can sometimes get a little kink and decided to remove .8cc

I did panick for just a second, I thought the worst. I thought something was wrong with my band. I would need surgery but everything is fine:thumbup:

I'm headed in for my first fill today since April. Like you, Lachica, I went months before going for unfills. I have been trying to figure out how my band could get tighter as the months went on. I round that the days when I worked out hardest were easier to eat. My surgeon and I haven't been able to make any connections, but I think---now that I've had a lot of stress in my life lately--I finally have it all figured out. Like most, I tighten during my TOM. I also tighten when I'm stressed out. I have always gotten sick to my stomach when I was bothered, so I'm not terribly surprised. So, after 2 unfills in 6 months, I'm finally going to get a fill. I've been losing inches again, but not pounds....As I near my one year bandiversary, I want to get back to losing.....

Do any of you notice that you're tighter when stressed out??

Not soo much stress...but TOM ...yes. I haven't had a period since my hystr. 10 yrs ago...but I still have my ovaries and ovulate. I can always tell at the end of each month a tightening in my band. After 3 unfills I finally figured it out. My doctor/staff acts like they have never heard of this before??? WTF??? Don't they read LBT???ahahha I'm going back on the 15th of Dec for a slight fill. (And in 2 weeks I'll be too tight...) I've been at a standstill for far too long. I'm ready to lose this last 20 lbs. I'm happy to know I can maintain my weight with very little effort (dieting) on my part. Even with a loose band, it's still there to controls my hunger and quanity. That's comforting. I can live like this for sure. The light at the end of the tunnel is bright.:)

Can't wait for End Of Year Pictures of you all!! My EOY is not until the 26th.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
