Make sure your popsicles are sugar free too! I drank diet green tea (lipton's brand) too....don't know if your surgeon would approve it or no. It has caffeine but not much.

I didn't wear a girdle post op either; I'd see what your surgeon says about that related to your wounds healing, your port placement, etc.

If you are on any medications; check to see if they can be crushed or if they come in liquid form. I had absolutely NO restriction from the start but many have at least some if for no other reason than a stomach swollen from the surgery, so you may or may not be able to take any pills.

AND I really used my "soft lips" lip balm; the anticholinergics really dry you out and my lips were chapped!

By week 2 I was ravenous and sick to death of broth so I bought some clear Soups (like kid's chicken noodle, some progresso light low sodium Soups, etc) and I would heat, strain, give the "stuff" to my husband and drink the broth. It kept me sane, and my husband and cat alive! LOL

lots of great movies / tivo lined up

heating pad worked great for my lower back - i put a lot of pressure there compensating for my tummy - it was a great relief

i was able to get a pedicure (you may want to check some doc don't allow) - knew i'd look/feel crappy but wanted pretty toes

pepermint tea - relaxed my tummy

i hated broth - but was able by day 3 to go to liquids; i lived on egg drop Soup - hubby banded same day was hooked on hot/sour Soup

I wonder what the baby wipes and prep H are for? Hmmm.

Getting a pedicure is a GREAT idea! I called my surgeon's office today to ask about nail polish and they said to leave one finger for the pulse ox (preferably the index finger). So...I'm just getting my toes done!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
