What is your biggest struggling point?

Recommended Posts

Think about it... I know what mine is... I'll be doing great eating properly each day, and then I'll sit down to feed Matthew (my disabled boy), and take a bite here and there. Sometimes it's not even healthy stuff, as they have him on high calorie, high carb foods. So that's not good. Last night I fed him a brownie. WIthout thinking, I licked my fingers. Gosh that tasted good. I almost had one too. But I don't think that's the type of food we're supposed to eat.

Exercising is going well. I am even enjoying it most days.

Teri

Oh and any ideas for solving, or fighting back with our struggling point.

I hope this helps someone.... first off not feeling like a failure, when they read the struggles others are having, and second off, maybe a suggestion that works for one might help another.

For me... I try to eat my meal just before Matthew's (didn't work out right last night), and then I can't munch on his leftovers. Somehow in spite of licking my fingers yesterday I lost a pound.

My biggest strugging point is finding something that I want to eat. I guess I have a hard time knowing what is healthy so I stick with what I do know to be healthy. Well, after a while, baked fish(no butter) and baked chicken gets REALLY old. I am growing gills and feathers. I try going to the food and nutrition boards, and have even tried some of the recipes. They just aren't the every day go to type of foods.

My biggest problem is picking food, i m used to eat everything i set my eyes on , i go into the kitchen and there lies a pack of chips or biscuits , i definetly snatch one ... i m trying hard not to taste everything and to have proper meals ... my other problem is chewing ... i eat while on the phone or infront of TV or talknig to someone and i forget ot chew ... and end up sliming or with pain ... These are at the moment my biggest struggles ...

My biggest problem has been the exercise. I know I am supposed to be working out, but I can't find the momentum to do so. And eating slow. I eat in front of the TV or while reading a book at work and I can't get the little amount of food I am eating to last 30 min. Luckily I haven't once gotten sick or stuck. I don't know why I have such a mental block when it comes to exercise, but I guess I always have. I have to flip a switch in my head, but I don't know what to do...

I think weekends are my biggest struggling point.

During the week I have structure. On the weekend I don't eat my meals or Snacks at the same time and this gets me all messed up. I need the structure of the work week, plus, eating and working at my desk helps me eat slower. Today, I ate as slow as I could, but I didn't make my tiny meal last 30 minutes.

I still have trouble getting my Water in with the nothing to drink an hour before and after a meal. So meals plus Snacks, on a structured day, it works, on weekends, I struggle with everything, but I have to admit I don't falter.

I do have to say that it is easier for me to exercise during the weekend. During the week I walk 30 minutes before I eat my lunch and this seems to help me a lot. I have been trying to take one or two 30 minute walks a day. Today I was able to get three walks in. Funny, they are starting to feel good. I am enjoying it. I never thought I would say that. AND my thighs and butt are shrinking. Now that is a good feeling. :w00t: Debbie

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
