I am actually required to take more than just the Multivitamin, that's why I started this post. I already do my Flintstones every day but need to start doing Iron and Fatty acids, so that's why I started this thread.

I see someone posted there is a liquid fatty acid, anyone know about Iron? Iron is in my Multivitamin, but my surgeon told me I need to take it at seperate times, because he feels it won't get absorbed correctly if I take it with the multivitamin. His choice, not mine!

But yes, my main question is just if there is any chewable iron Vitamins. Thanks for the advice on all the other Vitamins, I am already taking them daily. Just looking for iron chewables if anyone knows they exist.

I have a chewable Iron, but I'm in Australia but for what it's worth they're called "Iron Melts", you may find them.

I buy children's burstlets for fish oil, its the same size and shape of a capsule but flavoured, and the capsule bursts and you can spit it out.

Is this the Iron Melts that you are talking about? Iron Melts

If it is, does it mess with your stomach? My PCP has been trying to get me on iron for years for poor iron, but have been unable to tolerate the iron tablets that I have found here in my area.

If you find the chewable iron, please let me know. I'm having to crush mine and put on a teaspoon with yogurt. Pretty bad tasting honestly but I put up with it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
