21 pounds in the first month sounds great to me. Hope I can do that well! Keep up the good work.

Twenty one pounds since 9/5! That's great! I was banded 7/1 and I've lost 25 pounds since surgery. Give your body (and your head) a chance to adjust to the weight loss. I lost 15 pounds very quickly, then nothing for several weeks, then another 5. I lost 5 more after my first fill. You will notice a change after the fill. Are you exercising? I found that when I stepped up the cardio and the weight training the weight loss started again. Good luck and stay focused.

Hi mermie,

i was banded on 9/4/08 and have only lost 18lbs. I can eat as much as i did before surgery so needless to say im a little depressed. I need a fill bad. I am scheduled to have one 10/20/08. Im going to hang in there till then and just try to watch what i eat. Good luck

21 pounds in a month is a very great, and a little faster than normal. Weight loss is slower with the band so, don't feel bad if you slow down to 2 pounds a week, which I believe is the average. I'm currently at 3 per week, and thats eating about 1.5cups of food per day.

Congrats on the weight loss

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
