Help! No appetite after last fill.

Recommended Posts

I was banded August 5 and had my first fill August 26. All went well, some restriction but still able to eat my 1/2 cup of food 3times a day. After my second fill on September 23, I have no appetite for food or drink. I'm having trouble drinking all the Water that I need and I can't even stand to think about eating anything almost to the point of nausea. Has anyone had this problem? I'm worried that I'm not getting enough calories-That's a switch!

It will probably pass eventually.

Force the Water down and just go with it.

Unfortunately my appetite is the same as it ever was, it just takes less at a time to satisfy it.

That exactly how my fill was for me once I hit restriction. I walked in the office hungry and walked out feeling full haha. I don't feel hunger pangs anymore. I eat by the clock. I am one of the lucky ones I think. Though my weight loss comes and goes.... atleast I do not feel pangs or starve.

Been like that for about 2 months now

Thanks so much for the replies. I'm soo much better today. Water, Protein, small amount of food, and meds-not the problem it was yesterday. I am so glad because I was beginning to worry that I had a real problem going on. Good luck to all of you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
