There are a lot of really good sticky threads in the top two forums, but I find it makes it a little difficult to navigate through the forums, because they take up a lot of room. Some posts need to be in a particular forum, and it makes sense for them to be stickied in that forum. I'm not sure I can articulate what I'm thinking, but basically I'd like to suggest that threads that are stickied in each individual forums should be timely threads that need constant attention for a given period of time. (Challenge threads, food journal threads, etc.) Other threads, like the importance of drinking Water, Donali's secrets of success, I think would be excellent to move into a new "Library" forum, that is closed to the public, but can have posts moved into it by mods.

Doing this would have two immediate benefits:

1) The individual forums would be a little cleaner, have more space for the threads that are created on a daily basis, and the threads that ARE left in there as stickies would catch your eye a little better.

2) We'd have one repository for a lot of really good threads that should be MUST READS for potential bansters, as well as a place for those of us already banded to quickly find informational threads we want to re-read.

Anyway... just a thought.

Jonathan

Okay, don't know why my post got eaten, but well, the internet gods are like that sometimes....

I think this is an excellent suggestion Jonathan. It might also be a good idea if no new threads could be started there, only moved there. The only extra thread that I would like to see would be a glossary or dictionary, so folks don't have to constantly try to figure out PB or Stuck.

I love this idea, too, and will try to figure out how to make a "library" section. There are WAY too many sticky threads, some of which I think have outlived their usefulness. Your idea is a great one, Jonathan. Thanks!!

I guess I forgot to mention that, but yes, that forum should be closed. To do that, Alexandra, you go to Forums & Moderators in the admin control panel (admincp). Go to Forum Manager, and click "Add New Forum". In posting options (the 2nd to last section) click "No" on "Forum is Open". Moderators will still be able to move posts there, but people won't be able to start new threads there.

You could also make a new category by doing the same thing, but selecting No to "Act as a forum". Then follow the directions above, and select the new category as the parent forum.

Jonathan, I've asked Alex B. to add the new forum and then we can move things around. (At this point, the moderators don't have the ability to add new forums.)

Teresa, click on User CP and then Edit Signature. Paste the code from the ticker site into your signature, and it will appear here on ever post.

Welcome to LBT, by the way!! :D

Okay, so I have noticed a new forum...Lap Band Facts and something or other...is this where the Stickies will be moved to? Is this the new Thread Library? I think it would be great to "clean up" the other Forums. I love the Stickies, but there ARE alot of them. And I agree that Stickies are better meant to be temporary (for Challenges, etc) and the REALLY GOOD informative, don't-want-to-lose-to-the-archives threads could come to that new Forum...I hope that's how it's happening!

Yep, Kathy, you've got it. When I have an hour to rub together I will be reorganizing a little bit and moving the permanent threads to the new section, which will be closed for posts. Keep your eyes open! I hope to get it done today.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
