I am still so confused about whether or not to get a fill - I got one two weeks ago was too tight had a little taken out - tight at first then too loose then today tight again - why does it fluctuate so much - it makes it very hard to know whether or not the fill is too tight or not tight enough. I was able to eat steak over the weekend no problem but on Sunday tried to eat a little beef brisket and it got stuck. I am not eating much food and frankly thought I would be way down by now - was banded June 27th and only down 10 lbs. If I had known it would come off this slowly even with eating such small amounts of food daily I would not have let them cut on my stomach and leave these ugly scars and done it another way. Forgive me but I am not having a good day with the band - it is not as easy as I thought it would be.

I understand how it can get frustrating, but you just have to be patient. I am going through the same tightness thing as you. It is definately a learning experience, but try not to get discouraged. I agree with Jack. 10 lbs down is better than gaining. One thing to remember is we have a band around our stomach, not our brain. My head still wants to eat many times, and I have to make sure and really listen to my body to see if I am really hungry. The other thing that has helped me is exercise. I don't love it and never will, but it does make a difference.

Keep your head up, it will get better:)

Good Luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
