Hello,

I am 8 week post OP. I have had one fill on 9/11/08. I have made another appointment for another fill this Thursday. My Since this a new experience for me WHAT:confused: exactly should I feel when the Dr. does the fill. At my first fill when the fill was happening, and I was drinking Water I felt that I was going to toss my Cookies and the Dr removed some of the fill. While in the office I felt it a little restriction when I done the water drinking test. However, the next day I was back to eating normal food and do not feel full. I understand that it may take several fills to hit the sweet spot. Did I do something wrong at the fill? Can someone tell me what or how to know that the fill is going to provide me with restriction?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Be patient it takes a few fills before the band starts working. At first you get a fill, you will feel a little restriction but it loosen up in a few days. Most doctors only fill so much at time because you stomach swells after a fill. I know it took me about 5 fills before I got good restriction . I have a standard lap band that holds 10cc's. My doctor said that the average person needs about 6 cc's to hit the sweet point. I am at 5cc's at this point. Go back for a fill until you feel good restriction. Good restriction for me is I can't eat more that 1/2 to 1 cup of food at a meal. I don't feel hungry in between meals. Good luck, Let me know how you are doing after your next fill.

Diane

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
