The Last Suppers.......

Recommended Posts

I should be getting my insurance approval this week. I am going to be starting my own self imposed two week preop diet next week. Today for dinner I had one chili dog with the bread and everything, and one hot dog with just chili no bread. I relished the hot dogs like I would never get to them again even though I know that I will, it just won't be the same when I get filled up after two bites. Sunday I will be having egg rolls as my very last

meal.

If all goes well (with insurance)I will be banded Oct. 13 in San Antonio,tx by Dr. Cavazos. I love this site thank you all for listening.....

hi! I so know what you mean. I have been thinking all week about what I can have each night as I am having surgery this Friday. I did not have to do a pre-op diet so I am still deciding on Thursday nights dinner. I think either rib eye from outback or logans or Pasta from Provinos. I don't know but it will be good. Best of luck on your surgery.:rolleyes2:

hahah you crack me up! I did the SAME thing! That last week, I ate like it was my last week on earth! Red Lobster, steak, cheesecake, chocolate covered peanuts, Peanut Butter & jelly sandwiches, Big Macs, Weinerschnitzel, cake, Cookies, SODA, everything! I think we all do it to some extent

dont feel too bad I thought I could have a last meal closer than what actually happened. I am on 2 Protein shakes a day one Protein meal for either lunch/dinner.

I was thinking god I would give ANYTHING to have 10 wings the night before my surgery.

Isn't that horrible, all I could think about is either a hamburger or pizza! LOL! 4 weeks later, I had my first pizza last night. I ate hamburger patties by themselves on week 3. Funny how nothing is ever as yummy as what you think it will be after 3-4 weeks! LOL!

Interestingly enough.. I haven't had applesauce in years and that tasted the best ever when I got to mushies and still eat some when I'm thirsty after a meal and can't have Water.< /p>

My doc just said Clear Liquids the day before surgery, no other special restrictions, so 2 days before I went to my favorite German restaurant, had my favorite dish, favorite beer and favorite dessert. It was awesome. I look forward to going back soon and having just a bite of each of those from the spouse's plate. :-)

All you're doing is shooting yourself in the foot eating all that rich food....just more weight you'll have to lose on 'the other side'...but oh well! It's a myth that you won't be able to eat these favorite foods again...you will.

Last Supper Syndrome (LSS) has bitten me hard. I made my appointment for surgery on August 25th. Since that day, I have gained 10lbs. It's only been one month!!!!! :girl_hug:

My surgery is on November 5th, and even though I'm only required to do a 7-day pre-op diet, I think I'm going to start on October 5th. I've got to quit sodas and quit drinking beer before I get banded, and that might take a few weeks. Plus, if I don't stop eating everything in sight, I'm going to have to buy BIGGER clothes, LOL.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
